Demon Slayer: Anime vs. Manga Comparison for Season 4, Episode 4

With the debut of the fourth episode of season 4 of Demon Slayer, the focus of the anime shifted to the training of Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito in Rapid Movement. Despite the fact that the Hashira Training Arc only spans nine chapters, loyal fans are aware that the animation studio Ufotable has been incorporating original scenes into the episodes to further develop the storyline beyond the source material.

In the previous two episodes, a similar pattern was noted as the anime incorporated its own original content, expanding the source material, which was only a few pages, into two complete anime episodes. Therefore, let’s examine the changes that were noticeable in Demon Slayer season 4 episode 4, according to fans.

The manga panel only depicted a training session between Tanjiro and Tokito, but in Demon Slayer season 4 episode 4, Muichiro Tokito can be seen training other members of the Demon Slayer Corps. The anime also revealed glimpses of how the Mist Hashira had become more gentle, though the corps members still found him to be strict.

Kanamori’s Sharper Blades for Muichiro

The fourth episode of Demon Slayer’s fourth season featured a scene that revealed the process of how Ubuyashiki aided Muichiro Tokito in crafting sharper blades. It appeared that the master personally supervised the construction of a shed on Tokito’s property. Furthermore, he convinced Kanamori to join the ranks of the Mist Hashira permanently.

Nakime Spying on Muichiro Tokito

In episode 4 of Demon Slayer season 4, Nakime was depicted spying on Muichiro Tokito. This scene was not present in the corresponding part of the manga. In the manga, Nakime is portrayed as searching for Nezuko Kamado at a later point in the story. However, the anime incorporated this scene to provide fans with a sense of continuity and to show the demon’s ongoing pursuit of Nezuko.

The Training Session Between Obanai, Sanemi, and Muichiro

Despite never being depicted in the manga series, Muichiro Tokito was shown joining Obanai Iguro and Sanemi Shinazugawa’s personal training session in episode 4 of Demon Slayer season 4.

Despite the scene being well-received by fans, it contradicted established canon in the manga. In the manga, both Obanai and Sanemi were portrayed as stronger than Muichiro. However, in the anime, the Mist Hashira was shown to be evenly matched against both the Snake and Wind Hashira.

Insecurity Shared by Demon Slayer Corps Member

The fourth episode of Demon Slayer’s fourth season not only provided more insight into the main and supporting characters, but also the background characters – specifically, the other demon slayers. One of these demon slayers opened up about their own insecurities and expressed sympathy for Muichiro Tokito’s struggles. However, they felt powerless to help as they saw themselves as too weak.

The anime featured Tanjiro once again asking Hashira to join him in a competition for a recurring joke. In a previous episode, Tanjiro had asked Giyu Tomioka to take part in a contest of eating cold soba noodles.

During the latest episode, Tanjiro challenged Muichiro to a paper airplane tossing contest. This unexpected event ended up bringing Muichiro out of his shell and improving his relationship with the rest of the corps members.

Demon Slayer season 4 episode 4 reveals Nezuko’s whereabouts

During the Hashira Training Arc, it was discovered that Nezuko Kamado had been staying at the Butterfly Mansion. However, since Tanjiro began his training, the demon has not been seen in the anime. Thankfully, the latest episode revealed that Urokodaki was caring for Nezuko and she appeared to be sleeping once again.
