On Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 11:15 pm JST, the third episode of the Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc, titled Fully Recovered Tanjiro Joins the Hashira Training!!, aired. This marked the start of Tanjiro’s training as a Hashira, led by the former Hashira Uzui Tengen. During this training, Tanjiro and his fellow trainees fought against Uzui before moving on to Muichiro’s training.
Moreover, Sanemi and Obanai converse about the Infinity Castle and ultimately decide to engage in a duel. In the meantime, the demons initiate their plan, as a demon with a single eye declares ‘Four’ while observing the nighttime actions of the Demon Slayer Corps.

The Start of Tanjiro’s Hashira Training: Uzui’s Guidance and a Demon’s Watchful Eye
The third episode of the Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc begins with the trainees of the demon slayers struggling to keep up with Uzui Tengen’s demanding training routine. Tanjiro, who has recovered from his injuries, also joins in on Uzui’s rigorous training.
After a brief conversation with Uzui, Tanjiro starts his training and quickly surpasses the rest of the trainees. While having lunch, Tanjiro also gets to know Uzui’s three wives. The focus then shifts to two demon slayers on their night patrol, during which a demon secretly observes them.
An ‘Eye marked Four’ traces the demon slayers on patrol, signifying the arrival of a fresh Upper-Rank Four demon to take the place of Hantengu. This marks the start of the demons’ quest to find Nezuko, who has now gained control over the sun.
The third episode of Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc focuses on Uzui’s training. The other trainees are amazed by Tanjiro’s incredible strength. During their lunch break, they inquire about Tanjiro’s encounters with the upper-rank demons, and his tales leave them in awe.
Tanjiro is informed by Uzui’s three wives that although Uzui may appear stern, he holds a deep concern for the trainees. This reminds Tanjiro of the soba-eating competition he had with Giyu, who graciously let Tanjiro emerge as the winner.
Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc Episode 3: Sanemi and Obanai Discuss Infinity Castle and Challenge Each Other to a Duel
In episode 3 of the Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc, the focus shifts to a conversation between Sanemi, the Wind Hashira, and Obanai, the Snake Hashira. They talk about the ‘castle’ they came across during their training and how the demons mysteriously disappeared from it.
Despite their attempts to find it, they have not been able to do so. They hypothesize that the castle could potentially be a shelter for demons. Obanai predicts that there is a significant event approaching. Before parting ways, Sanemi and Obanai agree to engage in a duel with each other.

Afterwards, in Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc episode 3, Tanjiro is shown having tea with Uzui’s three wives. Grateful for his assistance in the Entertainment District, they fondly reminisce about the past. The topic of Uzui’s early retirement arises and they share their desire for Tanjiro to vanquish Muzan Kibutsuji in Uzui’s stead. In response, Tanjiro makes a promise to fulfill their wishes.
Uzui then changes the focus to a different training routine: a unique session that involves actual combat to simulate the experience of fighting demons at night. The participants are required to confront Uzui in the forest, honing their abilities to fight in low light and aiming to defeat him while also safeguarding their allies.
Despite facing the formidable former Hashira, Tanjiro’s combat skills set him apart as he is able to hold his own against Uzui. His abilities leave a lasting impression on the others, who are inspired to join the battle and fight alongside him.
Although they were battered by the end of the training, the trainees remained steadfast in their trust and admiration for all the Hashira and Tanjiro. They made a promise to themselves to become even stronger, determined to aid in the fights against the Upper Kizuki and Muzan Kibutsuji.
Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc: Episode 3 Closing Events – Tanjiro Begins Training with Muichiro Tokito
Uzui concludes their training in episode 3 of Demon Slayer’s Hashira Training Arc by informing Tanjiro that he is now ready to move on to the next Hashira. Stressing the crucial mission of defeating Muzan Kibutsuji to eliminate all demons, Uzui expresses his confidence in Tanjiro’s skills. Tanjiro makes a vow to defeat Muzan as he continues his journey.
Tanjiro says his farewells to everyone and departs from Uzui’s training area. He makes his way to the training grounds of the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, to continue his training. The episode concludes as Tajiro arrives at Tokito’s training location, where he finds others currently in the midst of their own training.
