On June 16, 2024, it was announced that episode 7 of Demon Slayer Hashira Training would be extended to 40 minutes, even though it is not the final episode of the series. The official confirmation of the extended runtime for episode 7 will be made after the airing of episode 6.
The Demon Slayer Hashira Training began with a 40-minute special episode. This could be attributed to the fact that the sequel is only adapting the smallest arc from the original manga series. Thus, in order to meet the standard episode count for a TV series, the addition of anime-original content was necessary.

The Progress of Hashira Training in Demon Slayer
The fourth season of the Demon Slayer Hashira Training arc began with a chilling anime-original moment featuring the Serpent and Wind Hashira preparing to enter the Infinity Castle. Following this, the Hashira came together to discuss the emergence of the demon slayer mark, which had been recently experienced by Mitsuri and Tokito.
During the awakening of this mark, they expressed their emotions and the Hashira came to the decision to begin the Hashira Training arc, giving the sequel its name. This arc aimed to gather as many demon slayers as possible who were capable of awakening the demon slayer mark. As a result, Tanjiro went through each of the Hashira’s training courses one by one during the sequel.
He initially came across Tengen’s training session and successfully completed it before moving on to the next session, where he encountered Tokito’s training. During this session, he gained valuable skills in controlling his swordplay. Upon passing, he joined Mitsuri’s training session, indulging in some sweets while also improving the flexibility of his body.
Entering Iguro’s training session, Tanjiro faced the wrath of the angry Hashira who was upset about his closeness with Mitsuri. Despite the tough challenges, Tanjiro successfully passed the test. Moving on to Shinazugawa’s training session, he found himself caught in a heated family feud between Genya and the Wind Hashira. The fifth episode of Demon Slayer Hashira Training concluded with Tanjiro arriving at Gyomei’s training session, the Stone Hashira.
