Demon Slayer Season 4: Anime vs. Manga Comparison for Episode 7

The conclusion of Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 marked the end of the Hashira Training Arc, wrapping up the storyline. In addition, Muzan Kibutsuji discovered Ubuyashiki’s whereabouts and confronted him.

As followers may be aware, the Hashira Training Arc spans only nine chapters. Therefore, in order to translate the story arc into a full anime season, Ufotable animation studio has been incorporating extra scenes to extend its duration. This was also evident in the most recent episode of the anime.

The seventh episode of Demon Slayer season 4 provided insight into Gyomei Himejima’s background. While the manga only briefly touched on Himejima and the orphans’ life at the temple, the anime delved deeper into their character dynamics, giving fans a more thorough understanding.

The scene featured the youngest girl, Sayo, offering her fish to Himejima in an attempt to help him gain weight. However, Himejima declined the offer, explaining that his rigorous training had taught him to not be affected by hunger.

In Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7, Tanjiro Kamado and Inosuke Hashibira were seen having lunch with Genya Shinazugawa. The anime stayed true to the original manga, but Ufotable included an additional scene.

During their meal, Inosuke finished his fish and then proceeded to take Zenitsu’s without hesitation. Luckily, Tanjiro intervened before any harm was done. While this scene may have seemed unnecessary, it added to the flow of the events. After Zenitsu’s mood shifted, he didn’t join the group for their meal. Therefore, it was logical for the anime to depict Tanjiro saving his food and delivering it to him later.

After Tanjiro Kamado interrupted Sanemi Shinazugawa’s training with Giyu Tomioka, he became irritated and left Tomioka’s residence. He then searched for Muichiro Tokito and Iguro Obanai, but unfortunately, both Hashira were unavailable for training. It should be noted that this event was not included in the original manga and was created specifically for the anime adaptation.

Regarding the manga, it solely depicted Sanemi’s annoyance with Tanjiro and their success in catching the attention of Nakime, who had been spying on the Demon Slayer Corps.

In the finale of Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7, Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji confronts Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. While in the manga, Muzan suddenly appeared at the Ubuyashiki Mansion in just one panel, the anime took a longer approach to the scene.

Fans may have been surprised to discover that the anime extended the scene of Muzan Kibutsuji approaching the Ubuyashiki Mansion window to around 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Despite the elongated runtime, the scene simply showed Muzan walking slowly towards the mansion through a foggy setting.
