On Sunday, the highly anticipated third episode of Demon Slayer season 4 was finally released. Fans were not disappointed, as the episode delivered plenty of reasons to be immersed in its contents. Ufotable once again proved their expertise in seamlessly incorporating original anime material, a feat that is often challenging for other studios and can disrupt the pacing of the original manga.

Once again, Tengen Uzui, the beloved Hashira, made a reappearance on the screen, bringing along his three wives. Their interactions with Tanjiro remained endearing and the animation remained consistently impressive.

The first stage of training was well developed in the anime, providing fans with thrilling action sequences to enjoy. The review for episode 3 of Demon Slayer season 4 was overwhelmingly positive, with little to no complaints from fans.

As previously mentioned, the episode included a significant amount of original anime material to enhance the training session. Additionally, the studio introduced new characters without names to emphasize the impact of the training on the demon slayers. While Tengen Uzui was tough on the group, Tanjiro Kamado managed to persevere with ease.

The battle between Tengen Uzui and the demon hunters was a standout moment of the episode. Despite being up against the skilled former Sound Hashira, Tanjiro held his own and inspired the rest of the demon hunters. The fight scenes were expertly choreographed, and Uzui’s unique one-handed swordsmanship was brought to life with Ufotable’s flawless animation.

Despite the absence of traditional antagonists, the Hashira Training arc is filled with tension and mystery due to the constant presence of demons. These demonic creatures pose a threat to both the human characters and the demon hunters, creating a sense of fear and unease for the viewers. This effectively showcases the importance of tension in scriptwriting, as it keeps the audience engaged and invested in the story. Unlike a series that heavily relies on prime antagonists in each arc, this arc successfully builds tension through the unpredictable and dangerous nature of demons.

Ufotable has hinted at the arrival of a new Upper Moon 4 demon, believed to be Nakime. Nakime is the demon responsible for controlling the Infinity Castle, which is known to be the abode of numerous demons. It is also the designated location for Muzan’s gatherings with both the Upper and Lower Moon demons.

Upon revealing Nakime’s eye infiltrating the Demon Slayer Corps’ headquarters, the tension in the series was perfectly heightened, especially during episodes with a more slice-of-life feel. This unease was only heightened when Sanemi Shinazugawa and Obanai Iguro discussed their feelings of uneasiness.

The third episode of Demon Slayer season 4 depicted the two Hashiras expressing concern over the absence of demonic activity. This indicated their intention to mount a full-scale attack on the Demon Slayer Corps in order to obtain Nezuko Kamado.

Fans should prepare themselves for an exhilarating episode as it is expected to solely revolve around Muichiro Tokito’s training stage.
