‘Demure’ TikTok User May Have Solution to Trademark Dispute

Jools Lebron may have a solution to the controversy surrounding the trademark filing of her viral phrase, “demure,”by someone else.

Jools Lebron, a prominent TikToker, was heartbroken to discover that someone else had legally registered the phrase “very demure, very mindful.”

Jools believed she was deserving of recognition for popularizing the word. However, her defeat came when a man named Jefferson Bates beat her to the punch.

In a TikTok that has since been deleted, Jools discussed the trademark controversy on August 24, explaining that she was unable to complete the process as quickly as she had hoped due to limited resources.

Despite the drama, the TikToker shared an enthusiastic update with her 2.1M followers on August 27, revealing that she had a solution to the issue.

“I am the owner of the trademark for Divas and I feel compelled to speak about it. Rest assured, we have it under control and that’s all I will say,”she stated. “I now have a team to support me,”she exclaimed, breaking into laughter.

“She concluded by thanking her fans for their support and assured them that she was taking care of everything. She then went on to process how to handle her sudden fame.”

Despite several social media users recreating Jools’ modest TikTok video from earlier this August, she remains the driving force behind the term’s popularity.

The term “demure,” which is defined as “affectedly modest, reserved, or serious,” has become extremely popular and is now even used by celebrities like Kim Kardashian in their daily conversations. Jools has received numerous invitations to social events ever since her viral phrase gained widespread attention on the internet.

Following her announcement about her trademark update, the TikToker’s comments section was inundated with an outpouring of support from numerous celebrities and brands, expressing their joy and excitement for her.

“I was just about to hire my lawyers for you,”wrote Tana Mongeau, host of the ‘Cancelled’ podcast.

“The Fashion Nova Curve brand stated, “You deserve it, diva. Congratulations, boo.”

“NYX Professional Cosmetics commented, ‘This could be a great product for you mothers.’”

Despite being new to the world of influencers, Jools is not the only individual who has gained such immense popularity that they had to trademark their viral content.

Upon coming across individuals attempting to profit off of the phrases “spit on that thang”and “Hawk Tuah,”Haliey Welch, also known as Hawk Tuah girl, took measures to safeguard the legal aspects of her fame by enlisting the help of a team.
