TikToker Jools Lebron, who rose to fame for popularizing the term ‘demure’, claims that her viral success on the platform has enabled her to finance her gender transition.
Jools (joolieannie), a transgender woman and content creator known for her satirical commentary, gained viral attention on TikTok in August 2024 for her humorous observations on how individuals should behave in public.
In a viral video with more than 32 million views, she discussed her modest approach to her appearance and recommended always dressing and accessorizing for work as if you were going to an interview.
In the video, she explained, “I make sure to apply my makeup in a demure and mindful manner for work. I don’t go for a bold green-cut crease or clown-like appearance. I keep it simple and appropriate for the workplace, always being mindful of my appearance while on the job.”

The words “demure”and “mindful”have become widely used on social media, as individuals share their experiences of engaging in “very demure”and “very mindful”activities.
In reaction to this, Jools uploaded a video on August 14 where she talks about the positive impact this viral trend has had on her life and urges others to make their own videos.
“She suggested that perhaps I should take on the task of creating the videos. She shared that one day, while working as a cashier, she made videos during her break. Now, she has the opportunity to travel to different countries to host events and use the income to support her transition.”
