Deontay Wilder’s coach says Anthony Joshua change has given him “pure confidence”

Anthony Joshua’s knockout victory over Francis Ngannou showcased his strength and confidence, proving that he has fully regained his realm of pure confidence.

According to Deontay Wilder’s coach Malik Scott, Joshua’s trainer Ben Davison has played a crucial role in his revival at the pinnacle of the heavyweight division, a sentiment he expressed with glowing praise.

After delivering a series of impressive performances, Joshua, a two-time world heavyweight champion, is now in contention for a chance to compete against the winner of the upcoming undisputed world title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk next month.

Scott has been thoroughly impressed with Joshua’s resurgence following his consecutive losses to Usyk.

Scott mentioned to Instant Casinos that he was impressed by AJ’s appearance and strength. He particularly enjoyed observing AJ practicing a shot in the locker room and then successfully executing it on the court.

Ngannou was unfamiliar with the AJ system, which was characterized by its extreme strength, violence, and distance. He would calmly approach his opponents, making his presence known before ultimately disposing of them.

“He has consistently posed a threat at the top of the division, but now he is truly exuding pure confidence, which I believe has been greatly influenced by Ben Davison.”

The 34-year-old continued his winning streak with a stoppage victory over Otto Wallin, followed by a dominant knockout win against Ngannou. This fight was originally scheduled to be against Wilder.

On the same evening that Joshua defeated Wallin, Wilder was surprised by Joseph Parker, effectively ruining any possibility of the fight taking place last month.

Despite being simultaneous world heavyweight champions for years, Joshua and Wilder never had the opportunity to fight each other for reasons unknown.

Despite acknowledging that his fighter must defeat hard-hitting Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang in his next fight, Scott maintains that Wilder still desires a showdown with Joshua. This victory would be crucial for Wilder to have any chance of facing Joshua in the ring.

“Scott stated that Deontay’s desire to fight AJ is still present, however, the focus is currently on navigating a perilous high-level match.”

“Our top priority is to address what is currently in front of us, especially after our last performance. I want all of his focus and drive solely on defeating Zhang through a knockout.”

“We are unable to afford any additional expenses. Deontay has returned with a vengeful attitude. During his fight against Joseph Parker, he remained calm and unable to unleash his full anger.”

“Despite the challenge we are facing, he is aware of what he must do. I believe that Zhang’s formidable size, strength, and threat will bring out the best in Deontay.”
