After gaining attention for his supporting role in “Descendants of the Sun” , Jin Goo is returning to the small screen with “The Auditors” after a long hiatus. In the series, he portrays Hwang Dae-young, the vice president of JU Construction and the youngest son of the company’s founder. Known for his unconventional personality, Hwang Dae-young often finds himself causing chaos within the company.
Dae-woong joins JU Constructions as an average employee and diligently works his way up to become the vice president. Through his hands-on experience in lower level roles, Dae-woong gains a deep understanding of the challenges faced by his colleagues, and makes a constant effort to support and assist them.
Despite expectations of Jin Goo portraying a handsome and powerful boss based on his character’s description, the actor surprised everyone with an unexpected appearance in the drama’s still cuts. While he donned a nice suit, his hair was long and curly, reaching his shoulders. Some speculated that this was a deliberate choice by the producer to highlight the character’s rebellious nature, but it was met with disappointment from many K-drama fans.
After viewing the production team’s uploaded photos, many viewers expressed surprise at how different Jin Goo, who played Seo Dae-young in “Descendants of the Sun”8 years ago, looked. Some were also curious about how he would portray his character in the new drama. Several comments included, “Wait, that’s Jin Goo?”, “Can we have Seo Dae-young back?”, “I didn’t even recognize him with the longer hair. Who decided to make him grow it out?”, and “I don’t understand why he had to change his appearance for this role.”
Jin Goo, who was born in 1980, has been honing his acting skills for 21 years. Despite his strong talents and dedication, it was not until his appearance in “Descendants of the Sun” that he gained widespread recognition from the public. Unlike his co-star Song Joong-ki, who took on more projects with fervor after the success of the drama, Jin Goo chose to take a slower approach. While he has taken on several leading roles, he has not actively promoted them. Furthermore, he tends to gravitate towards scripts with complex and heavy storylines, which may not appeal to everyone.
