Destiny 2 Community Calls on Bungie to Revive Overlooked Exotics Following 1K Voices Glitch

Guardians in Destiny 2 are encouraging developers Bungie to revisit and enhance the enjoyment of underappreciated Exotics like One Thousand Voices, especially after the weapon experienced a bug during the recent week-long sword event.

Destiny 2 has been facing challenges recently, including announcements of significant layoffs, reduced content updates, and rumors of a mobile spin-off. This has tested the patience of many Guardians in the community.

In response to these issues, the developers have made efforts to reconnect with players, stating that the recent 10-year anniversary of the franchise marked just the beginning of their commitment to the game’s future. Alongside this, they have introduced various in-game events to help restore Guardians’ trust in the franchise.

One highlight was the special Sword celebration week, which put a spotlight on swords by providing them with regenerating ammo, making them the go-to weapons for all content during the event.

However, a bug resulted in One Thousand Voices receiving the same regenerating ammo effect, prompting many players to try out the Exotic. Now, the community is calling for Bungie to consider similar changes for other weapons to tap into the fun and whimsical aspects of Destiny’s arsenal.

The unexpected bug with One Thousand Voices has turned into a pleasant surprise for Destiny 2 players.

This bug highlighted the excitement surrounding One Thousand Voices, reminding players of the enjoyment the weapon brings.

“This has been a super fun weekend, like funny guns weekend. We really should have more oopsies on exotics that are normally impractical because it’s fun, plain and simple,” one player remarked.

“I think they should randomly enable an exotic with heavy regenerating ammo every weekend when Xur is around,” another suggested.

Initially, Bungie did not intend for the bug to persist, but they ultimately allowed it to remain for the duration of the week, enabling Guardians to fully enjoy the unlimited ammo. Now, many players advocate for Bungie to recognize that the majority of Guardians prefer the game’s “nonsense fun.”

“If Bungie had half a brain at this point, they’d realize a majority of players just want nonsense fun (only 11% of the player base even completed 1+ raid) and would make this a bi-yearly event,” one user pointed out.

“Honestly, I hope to see them implement weeks of this nature in general, like a machine gun week or a rocket launcher week. I don’t usually use swords, and this week has given me the chance to really experiment with them,” another player added.

With Bungie’s renewed focus on engaging with its player base, it is possible that we may see more special events in the future that allow Guardians to explore Exotics that have been overlooked.
