Bungie’s Acknowledgment of Trailer Misinterpretation
The original poster articulated that the trailer sequence, showcasing the shotgun followed by a display of void damage, led to misconceptions among players. “They put the shotgun’s name on the screen, show someone getting kills with the shotgun, and then immediately cut to a rain of void damage after the kill in the same shot,”they noted.
Initially, some players speculated that this additional damage might be attributed to the Slayer’s Fang Catalyst. However, it quickly became apparent that the effect is actually derived from the seasonal artifact, which features a perk known as ‘Old God’s Rite,’ activated upon collecting a Void Breach.
