Destiny 2 Early Patch Notes for October 22: Updates on Vesper’s Host Artifice Armor and Fixes for The Last Word

Bungie has unveiled the updates that will be introduced in the upcoming Destiny 2 patch set for October 22. Among these updates are significant adjustments to Vesper’s Host and The Last Word.

In a recent announcement on X/Twitter, the team highlighted three major enhancements that will impact various aspects of the game’s sandbox environment. Notably, the Master difficulty of the Revenant’s Vesper’s Host dungeon will now offer increased rewards.

Check out the complete list of preliminary patch notes below.

Destiny 2 Early Patch Notes for October 22

  • Artifice Armor will now be obtainable in Master difficulty for Vesper’s Host.
  • A debuff icon will be introduced, allowing players to recognize when they are marked by a Warlock using Sanguine Alchemy.
  • Following the discovery of an over-damage issue, The Last Word will be reactivated for PvP and Gambit on Tuesday. While it was loved by many for its increased damage, it will remain boosted in PvE. Consider trying the combination with Lucky Pants!

Artifice Armor in Vesper’s Host

With the forthcoming patch on October 22, players can expect Artifice Armor to be a potential drop in the Master difficulty of Vesper’s Host. This type of armor includes an additional mod slot, enhancing core attributes like Resilience, Discipline, and Intellect.

This is not merely a new buff; it was a feature intended for inclusion when Master difficulty for Vesper’s Host was first launched but was hindered by a bug preventing drops. Instead of taking the Master mode offline, Bungie chose to keep it active for Guardians pursuing the Unleashed title.

Updates on The Last Word

After identifying that The Last Word was inflicting excessive damage in PvP and Gambit, Bungie temporarily disabled the Exotic shortly after the release of Revenant on October 8. The upcoming patch will reinstate this Hand Cannon across all game modes, with a little twist.

The issue mainly impacted competitive play due to the rapid time-to-kill (TTK), but the increase in damage carried over into PvE as well. “You all enjoyed the damage so much that we’ve retained it for PvE,” the studio confirmed.
