The livestream for the preview of Destiny 2’s The Final Shape expansion began with a variety of revealing information about the upcoming release in June.
While Exotic class items have been previously introduced in the Destiny universe, their functionality will be slightly different this time around.
Exotic Class Items Have Been in Destiny Since the Beginning
In Destiny 1, when The Taken King was released, Bungie introduced Exotic class items as rewards from factions. These factions, such as Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Future War Cult, offered bonuses on the class items that were straightforward. These bonuses included increased XP for the desired faction and upgrades that aided in ranking up specific weapons.
Despite this, in The Final Shape, Exotic class items will have a slightly different function, providing players with even more options for customization when it comes to creating their builds.
Destiny 2: The Last Stand Class Items
The newest Subclass, known as “Prismatic”, will be accompanied by a variety of Exotic class items that are specifically designed to complement its new abilities. These class items will feature two random Exotic perks, inspired by different Exotic armor pieces from various classes. Bungie provided several examples of this during their announcement.
For example, a Hunter could possess a cloak that combines features of both the Assassins’ Cowl and Liar’s Handshake. Similarly, Warlocks may have a bond with abilities from both the Apotheosis Veil and Star-Eater Scales, and Titans might receive a mark with elements of both Ophidian Aspect and Precious Scars.
Undoubtedly, the addition of these new exotic class items will provide Guardians with even greater opportunities for customization when it comes to building and discovering synergistic combinations. With the vast array of subclasses and exotics available in Destiny 2, players will soon have the ability to be more imaginative in crafting their perfect build, utilizing the Prismatic subclass and these latest exotic class items.
