In Destiny 2, players have an exciting opportunity this week to earn double Nightfall rewards and enhance their Vanguard rank. However, to fully take advantage of these benefits, you’ll need to tackle the contentious Oscillation modifier, which can be managed effectively with the right Exotic weapon.
First introduced in the Episode Revenant, the Oscillation modifier is a gameplay feature within Vanguard activities. When activated, it incentivizes players to alternate between specific weapons, boosting their damage output significantly. Conversely, maintaining focus on a single weapon for extended periods results in a reduction of its damage, making it crucial to strategize during engagements.
Although Oscillation has received criticism from segments of the community, it can prove beneficial for damage per second (DPS) if executed correctly. A top-tier weapon to optimize this modifier is Revision Zero. Unlike typical Exotics, Revision Zero charges its Hunter’s Trace on precision shots instead of final blows, allowing players to stack precision hits more efficiently while experiencing reduced damage.
Once you have generated enough energy for Hunter’s Trace, activating it grants access to special shield-piercing ammunition. These rounds benefit from the Oscillation buff, dealing substantial damage and even capable of stunning Barrier Champions, a prevalent challenge during this week’s Nightfall.
The effectiveness of Pulse Rifles in this setup cannot be overstated; the Revenant Artifact further amplifies their damage by an additional 25%. By synergizing Oscillation with perks such as Unstoppable Pulse Rifle, Vorpal Weapon, and Kinetic Weapon Surge, players can unleash a staggering total of over 1,000,000 damage through well-timed shots. This rapid recharge ability makes it possible to repeatedly engage formidable enemies without significant downtime.
Optimizing the Revision Zero God Roll
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
- Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
- Exotic Perk: Vorpal Weapon
- Catalyst: 4-Timer Refit
- Stock: Composite Stock
When crafting Revision Zero, it’s important to prioritize stability and damage output. Achieving optimal stability can be accomplished by combining Arrowhead Brake with Ricochet Rounds and a Composite Stock, significantly reducing recoil and enhancing the likelihood of consecutive precision shots.
Moreover, layering the Vorpal Weapon perk provides an impressive 20% damage increase against bosses, working harmoniously with Hunter’s Trace for maximum effectiveness. Pairing this with the 4-Timer Refit perk allows players to diminish reload times, boosting overall efficiency in engagements.
To acquire Revision Zero, players must first complete Operation Seraph’s Shield to obtain its crafting pattern, which can be achieved on Standard difficulty. The catalyst is obtainable by finishing another run on Expert mode.
However, it’s important to note that if you have yet to acquire the crafting capability for Revision Zero, you will not be able to utilize it during this Grandmaster Nightfall, as Operation Seraph’s Shield is not among this week’s featured Exotic missions.
