With the release of Destiny 2 Episode Revenant on October 8, Bungie has unveiled new Exotic Armor tailored for each class. This time, it’s clear that Warlocks have hit the jackpot in terms of gameplay advantage.
The Rime-Coat Raiment, which is Stasis-oriented chest armor for Destiny’s Warlocks, significantly enhances the effectiveness of Bleak Watcher turrets.
In contrast to the previously essential Osmiomancy Gloves—commonly regarded as the top-tier Exotic for Stasis builds due to their extra Coldsnap grenade charge—Rime-Coat offers a much richer set of bonuses.
This armor features a standout perk called Bleak Domain, which boosts the range of Bleak Watcher turrets and generates two arrays of four Stasis crystals arranged in a cardinal layout. Additionally, any foes that venture into the zone created by this ice storm will experience slow effects and may ultimately become frozen. Moreover, staying close to the turret lets your weapons inflict slow and freeze effects through collected Icicles.
The Bleak Domain perk associated with Rime-Coat Raiment provides numerous substantial enhancements.
Each of these abilities is individually valuable; however, their combination within a single piece of armor propels Rime-Coat into the S-tier category. The most effective way to leverage the power of Bleak Domain is in PvE scenarios, particularly in the seasonal activity known as Revenant’s Onslaught Salvation.
Although this Exotic primarily serves a defensive role, understanding enemy spawn locations can greatly enhance its utility. Onslaught features a wave-based structure with fixed spawn points for enemy groups, making it ideal to deploy a Stasis Turret among them, effectively neutralizing threats quickly.
How to Acquire Rime-Coat Raiment
Guardians will have to start from scratch to level up with Rahool for access to the new Exotic armors from Revenant.
Similar to how players had to access Speaker’s Sight during The Final Shape, Guardians are required to increase their rank with Rahool at the Tower by decrypting Prime and Exotic Engrams.
Once you hit Rank 16, you will be granted access to Focused Decoding, which lets you decrypt Exotic Engrams into any desired armor piece, whether you already own it or not, including the Rime-Coat Raiment.
