Destiny 2: How to Complete Hunter’s Remembrance

Destiny 2: How to Complete Hunter’s Remembrance

Hunter’s Remembrance is one of many new quests in Destiny 2 that accommodate the many changes the game’s gone through. It’s technically a new version of a quest from way back in the Forsaken expansion, so here’s how to get and complete it.

How to Complete Hunter’s Remembrance in Destiny 2

The Hunter’s Remembrance quest is a rebranding of the Wish-Ender quest from Forsaken, minus a couple of steps. As you might imagine, the reward is the Wish-Ender Exotic Bow, and the only other real change is how you start the quest. Here’s everything it takes to complete Hunter’s Remembrance.

Step 1: Grab the Quest from the Quest Archive Terminal at the Tower

To start Hunter’s Remembrance, you must own the Forsaken Pack DLC, head to the Tower and pick up the quest from the Quest Archive Terminal. You can find the terminal to the left of the Postmaster, tucked into the alcove next to the stairs. Once in the archive’s menu, navigate to the Exotic screen via the button below the Exotics and Legacy subhead, and pick up the quest from the Abandoned Quests section.

Do not pick up the Wish Ender quest, as there are reports that it’s currently bugged and does not actually award the Exotic Bow.

Step 2: Visit Petra Venj in the Dreaming City

Depending on the week, Petra will be in one of the three Dreaming City zones.

  • For the first week of the Dreaming City curse, when the Hive are about, she’ll be at the far southeastern end of The Strand.
  • The second week, when Scorn are wandering, she’ll be near the landing zone in the Divalian Mists.
  • For the third week where Taken enemies and orbs are everywhere she’ll be in Rheasilvia.

Speaking to Petra with the Hunter’s Remembrance quest in your inventory will prompt her to give you an Exotic Momento that will take up a place in your Kinetic weapon slot: the top weapon slot in the menu. To avoid any shenanigans, I highly recommend having an open space in your weapon inventory. The number of different bugs I’ve seen in Destiny 2 involving items not going to the Postmaster is way too high.

Step 3: Complete the Shattered Throne Dungeon as per the Original Wish-Ender Quest

At this point, with your Momento in hand, you can follow the steps outlined in our Wish-Ender Exotic quest guide to find and defeat the three enemies required to complete Hunter’s Remembrance. Once the boss Minotaur, Knight, and Ogre are dealt with, you can approach the statue following the Ogre fight and turn in your momentos for the Bow itself.

Hunter’s Remembrance is actually simpler than the previous version of the quest, as it only requires a single special completion of the Shattered Throne Dungeon as opposed to two completions and a smattering of additional steps. I find it sad that new players won’t get to experience the story content that revolved around the Tangled Shore, Dreaming City, and the arrival of the curse. It was genuinely some of the better narrative work Destiny 2‘s seen and kept the game from dying after its first year. Don’t get me started on the vanilla version. You’d be here all day.
