Destiny 2 Introduces First New Dungeon Auto Rifle in 3 Years

Destiny 2’s latest Dungeon, entitled Revenant’s Dungeon and featuring Vesper’s Host, premiered on October 11. This update introduces an exciting array of rewards, including four unique Legendary weapons.

While the complete list of perks for each weapon has not yet been fully disclosed, early indications suggest that these weapons hold significant potential in the game’s meta. Among them, the standout weapon is the VS Pyroelectric Propellant, a 600 RPM Adaptive Frame Arc Auto Rifle—specifications that haven’t been seen since the Season of the Lost release back in August 2021.

It’s no wonder that players have welcomed this archetype with enthusiasm; the 600 RPM auto rifles are often regarded as the most formidable choice for PvE activities. The Braytech-inspired weapon is also capable of rolling exceptional perks such as Closing Time, Strategist, and Jolting Feedback.

Pyroelectric Propellant can feature perks like Jolting Feedback, Strategist, and Closing Time, among others.

With the seasonal artifact perks from Revenant promoting Arc and Stasis builds, Jolting Feedback—inflicting Jolt after dealing repeated damage with this weapon—will be particularly effective. When combined with Strategist, Pyroelectric nears the functionality of Destiny’s classic Zhalo Supercell, albeit without its chain lightning effect.

Another promising combination includes Eddy Current and Onslaught, which enhance reload speed and increase rate of fire after sprinting or securing kills, respectively.

As is the case with all weapons from this Dungeon, Pyroelectric Propellant can’t be crafted, meaning players will depend on RNG to obtain their desired rolls. For Guardians who were unable to complete the Vesper’s Host on Contest Mode, the prospect of running the Dungeon multiple times for a chance to earn Ice Breaker offers additional incentives to engage with Revenant’s endgame content.
