Destiny 2 Introduces New IKELOS SMG Successor After Two Years of Anticipation

For a considerable period, the IKELOS_SMG_V1.0.3 stood as the premier Arc submachine gun in Destiny 2. However, after two years since its return, a new contender has emerged, claiming its title.

Enter the Noxious Vetiver, a weapon introduced in Revenant Act 2. This newcomer has swiftly established itself as a must-have for players, boasting a distinctive perk combination that no other submachine gun can replicate.

Players seeking to acquire the Noxious Vetiver can farm it from seasonal activities within the Revenant episode. The most efficient way to obtain this weapon is by participating in the Tomb of Elders event while equipped with a Tonic of Noxious Vetiver. As you engage in this activity, aim to secure the following optimal perks for your roll.

Jolting Feedback ranks among the most formidable perks in PvE gameplay. It operates similarly to Voltshot, but without the requirement for reloading. By landing just 13 shots, you can trigger Jolt on nearby enemies, effectively neutralizing adds and applying a debuff to affected foes.

This perk synergizes exceptionally well with Attrition Orbs, which creates Orbs of Power from landed shots. This feature not only generates ability energy but also activates critical buffs such as Weapon Surges and Kickstarts. Notably, the additional hits generated by Jolt can repeatedly trigger Attrition Orbs, continually providing your team with valuable resources.

Despite its powerful perks, the Noxious Vetiver does face challenges due to its relatively low stats, particularly concerning reload speed. To counterbalance this drawback, aim for a roll that includes Tactical Mag alongside a Reload Speed Masterwork.

Combining these elements with a Tactical weapon mod can reduce the reload time of Noxious Vetiver to an impressive 2.0 seconds. If you find this still unsatisfactory, consider equipping one or two Arc Loader armor mods to significantly enhance your reload efficiency.

It is essential to note, however, that Precision Frame submachine guns are currently not yielding strong performances in the prevailing meta, which may hinder effectiveness in high-end activities like Grandmaster Nightfalls. Nevertheless, in most other scenarios, Noxious Vetiver excels, making it a valuable addition to Arc builds.
