Destiny 2 Machine Gun: The Commemoration Rival That Even New Lights Can Obtain

Destiny 2’s The Final Shape expansion unveiled The Pale Heart, a fresh patrol location that houses a variety of formidable armaments, including a Machine Gun that can compete with the likes of Commemoration.

The Pale Heart brought eight new weapons to the constantly expanding arsenal of Destiny, including popular choices such as Someday and The Call. Not only are these weapons strong, but they are also easily obtainable, making them a fantastic choice for experienced players, returning Guardians, and newcomers alike.

Pro Memoria is not an outlier, as the Strand Machine Gun has emerged as a popular choice among Destiny 2 players. According to DestinyTracker, as of June 25, it holds the fifth overall spot in PvE with a usage rate of 2.26%, surpassing all other Machine Guns in the game.

Despite its accessibility being a major factor in Pro Memoria’s popularity, the Machine Gun also boasts exceptional performance. The Pale Heart weapon has access to various top-tier perks for Machine Guns, such as Reconstruction, Dragonfly, Hatchling, Desperate Measures, and even Bait and Switch.

To fully utilize Pro Memoria as an effective add clear weapon, crafting the following god roll is highly recommended:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Extended Mag
  • Column Three: Reconstruction
  • Column Four: Bait and Switch/Desperate Measures

With its god roll, Pro Memoria proves to be an outstanding add-clear weapon, rivaling the power of Raid-experienced Commemoration and the now-unattainable Onslaught attuned Hammerhead. The best part? Obtaining Pro Memoria is a breeze compared to its counterparts.

To obtain Pro Memoria, you must first finish The Final Shape’s campaign and complete Micah-10’s post-story quests until you obtain your initial Pro Memoria drop. After that, you can gather Pale Heart Engrams by participating in the Overthrow activity and focusing them at Ghost. With some persistence, you will be able to acquire enough Red Border drops to craft the perfect god roll for Pro Memoria in a reasonable amount of time.

Both Bait & Switch and Desperate Measures are viable options for the fourth perk slot, with the former providing a larger damage boost but requiring more effort to activate. In comparison, Desperate Measures may not hit as hard but does not require any additional effort to use. Guardians should choose the perk that best aligns with their preferred playstyle, as the first three perk slots are non-negotiable.
