The Graviton Lance in Destiny 2 was unintentionally weakened in the August 6 update, and there is currently no specified timeline for when a solution will be implemented for players.
The Graviton Lance is renowned for its ability to deal significant damage and produce black hole shots, making it a favorite among players. However, Bungie has been making frequent adjustments to its balance. Although the Exotic Pulse Rifle has been both buffed and nerfed multiple times, the most recent change was unintentionally implemented.
Despite the promised fix in Destiny 2’s August 6 patch for an issue where Pulse Rifles showed an incorrect RPM of 395 instead of 300, it has been discovered that this adjustment did, in fact, have an impact on weapons beyond just visual appearances. The changelog had assured players that there would be no such impact, but this has been proven incorrect.
According to players on Reddit, the recent update has resulted in an “indirect nerf”to the Graviton Lance, causing the exotic to fire at a significantly slower rate compared to before the patch.
Upon reading the post, one individual expressed their disappointment, stating “I just noticed this and it’s terrible.”
Another person in the conversation chimed in, stating, “No, it’s definitely more than just a cosmetic update. You can easily see that it’s significantly slower.”
The Graviton Lance has been around since early Destiny 2 days
The issue has been acknowledged by developers in a post on the official Bungie Help Twitter/X account (https://x.com/BungieHelp/status/1820895275650838661). However, it may take some time for a solution to be implemented as the team has stated that the Graviton Lance glitch will not be resolved until a future update. Fans are advised to be patient in the meantime.
The studio has issued a statement to Destiny 2 players, stating that they have noticed a problem with Graviton Lance firing at a slower rate than intended. They have assured players that this issue will be resolved in a future update.
A number of individuals voiced their dissatisfaction in the comments regarding the prolonged wait. They are convinced that if the rifle had been inadvertently improved by the patch, a hotfix would have been released immediately.
One response states, “If it had been shooting at a faster than expected rate, this issue would have been resolved within a matter of hours.”
Yet another exasperated gamer mockingly commented, “Oh please, don’t bother about it. Just continue to reduce the enjoyable aspects of the game, because that will surely attract more players.”
Despite a series of layoffs and cancellations linked to Destiny, the remaining employees at Bungie may now be focusing on other tasks.
