The Final Shape expansion has been widely praised for its positive impact on all aspects of Destiny 2. However, players are still eager for some adjustments, particularly when it comes to Tormentor’s.
Numerous grievances revolve around the interactions between Tormentors and the recently introduced Prismatic subclass. This subclass is intended to showcase a Guardian’s mastery of both Light and Darkness powers, but Tormentors have the ability to Suppress players, even when they are in a Transcendent state.
According to a comment made by a user on Reddit, they believe that this action undermines the fundamental idea behind Prismatic.

The issue is further exacerbated by the frequent use of the suppressive slam by Tormentors, especially after their shoulders have been dislocated.
Some also used the chance to continue their criticism towards the enemy type. One person commented, “Tormentors, as a whole, require more attention. While their name may suggest they are meant to cause suffering, their persistent suppression, excessive agility, and RIDICULOUSLY LARGE HEALTH BAR are simply aggravating.”
In the Lightfall campaign, I vividly recall facing a lone Tormentor and using up all my heavy ammo (Hothead with Explosive Light), special ammo (Witherhoard), and abilities, yet still having to spend an additional 5-10 minutes gradually weakening it with an auto rifle.
Some also expressed their opinion that this issue is just one aspect of a larger problem within the game, stating, “The various forms of suppression, Stasis effects, and other abilities like tinnitus, Cabal missiles, and Hive wizard attacks can all be incredibly frustrating. It’s been my belief that there should be varying ways to resist each of these, especially with the wide range of armor options available. Bungie has a perfect opportunity to address this now.”
Currently, there are no confirmed plans for a Tormentor rework or alterations to the other Dread enemies. It is uncertain how long this will persist if the community’s feelings persist, although the developer has earned a level of trust after the release of The Final Shape.
