Despite the frequent server outages, Destiny 2’s new expansions continue to be highly anticipated. The recent release of The Final Shape, after a 24-hour downtime, has allowed a select few players to enjoy the new content. However, for the rest of the players, there is not much to do except make jokes about the ongoing server issues.
The Final Shape: Players React to Destiny 2 Outage
On the Destiny 2 subreddit, disgruntled players are finding ways to occupy themselves by creating their own interpretations of The Final Shape. According to user Hypersonic-Rogue, the error logo that appears during server downtime could be the true representation of the ‘final shape’.
Likewise, Kambro1, a user, has skillfully edited the expansion’s primary promotional image to reflect the prolonged delay.
Naturally, not all supporters appreciate humor while they wait for the servers to come back online. In response to the post, Small-Quantity2310 commented, “Relax, this happens every expansion. It’s nothing new haha.”
Thankfully, the delay in accessing Destiny 2’s The Final Shape expansion should not be prolonged. A few fortunate players have already reached the opening cutscene, providing a glimpse into the continuation of the story. It appears that Bungie’s bottlenecking of the servers after the downtime has ended, and the issue should be resolved shortly.
Despite the extended wait for The Final Shape, it’s heartening to see the Destiny 2 community maintaining a sense of humor about it. We can only hope that past problems such as the Cat error and ‘one moment please’ won’t resurface again.
