On January 7, the much-anticipated Act 3 of Destiny 2’s Revenant expansion was released, introducing an array of new activities and rewards, including the season’s final Exotic weapon, Slayer’s Fang.
Slayer’s Fang continues the recent trend of powerful Void Exotics, following in the footsteps of Echoes with the Choir of One. This firearm works exceptionally well with the Light subclass and enhances the Prismatic system, allowing players to take full advantage of Act 3’s Artifact perks while also dealing significant Weaken effects to enemies.
This Shotgun not only stands out as a formidable weapon but also fits seamlessly with various class-specific Exotics, such as No Backup Plans. However, it is important to note some drawbacks that may impact your build strategies.
Acquiring Slayer’s Fang
Players can acquire Slayer’s Fang as a guaranteed drop after completing Kell’s Fall for the first time.
Slayer’s Fang is confirmed to drop upon completion of Kell’s Fall.
As the concluding chapter of the Revenant storyline, Kell’s Fall brings players back to the Dreaming City from Forsaken. Here, you will face off against The Fanatic to thwart his sinister plans alongside the Scorn.
Additionally, similar to previous Exotic missions, you will also unlock the ability to craft Slayer’s Fang at the Enclave on Mars after your initial completion. This crafting feature is essential for customizing the Special weapon with one of its four unique Catalysts.
Does Slayer’s Fang Feature a Catalyst?
Yes, Slayer’s Fang has four distinct Catalysts that can be unlocked by fulfilling specific objectives in Kell’s Fall on Expert difficulty.
In a manner akin to Outbreak Perfected and Vexcalibur, only one Catalyst, referred to as a Refit, can be equipped at any given time. If unlocked, players can switch between the four Refits at the Enclave for a small fee.
The available Catalysts are as follows:
- Repulsor Brace Refit
- Stats for All Refit
- Cascade Point Refit
- Loose Change Refit
Slayer’s Fang Catalysts are available by completing their corresponding quests.
Exotic Perks Overview
Slayer’s Fang features the Exotic perks Nighsworn Sight and Heartpiercer.
Here’s a detailed look at Slayer’s Fang’s Exotic perks:
- Nightsworn Sight: Defeating enemies provides Truesight, enhances ammo conservation, and inflicts Weaken.
- Heart Piercer: Each round shatters into submunitions upon impact, making it particularly effective against [Disruption] Overload Champions.
Among the new Seasonal weapons introduced on January 7, Red Tape also deserves attention as it is a powerful Scout Rifle with several desirable rolls worth pursuing.
