Destiny 2 Solstice 2024 Overview: Key Dates, Weapons, Armor, and Rewards

Solstice is back, bringing with it Destiny 2’s famous summer event. The 2024 version of the event features a variety of thrilling weapons, armor, and other valuable rewards.

The Solstice of Heroes event first debuted in 2018 and has been a beloved tradition ever since, returning each year without fail. Typically taking place in July or August, it unites Guardians in their quest to collect unique loot only available during the event.

The event’s main objective is to recognize and celebrate everyone’s achievements from the past year, with the added bonus of valuable loot and exclusive rewards. It’s a great opportunity to feel proud of your accomplishments and also upgrade your vault with some thrilling new gear.

Last year’s Solstice event ended up disappointing some Guardians despite its usual reputation for being a lot of fun. As a result, Bungie has taken feedback into account and made significant changes for this year’s event, including the reintroduction of popular meta weapons that should keep players entertained.

When does the 2024 Solstice start?

Solstice 2024 began on August 6, 2024, during the weekly reset, and the event was activated at 5 PM GMT/10 AM PT/1 PM ET. Unlike certain other Destiny content, the rewards for Solstice are not limited by time, allowing players to obtain all items from the first day.

When does the year 2024 Solstice end?

Guardians will have ample opportunity to acquire rewards and god rolls for their desired weapons as this year’s Solstice event will continue for a three-week duration until August 27, 2024.

Acquiring a complete armor set for a specific class requires a payment of either 1,500 Silver or 6,000 Bright Dust. Once obtained, the armor set can be utilized as an ornament to replace the appearance of any non-Exotic armor, while still preserving its statistics.

The three armor sets available in Solstice 2024 were recently unveiled in Bungie’s Echoes Act 2 developer livestream, which can be watched at https://www.youtube.com/live/fCmAyvFa-dQ?si=svjkTdnJeTbyX0h6&t=1435.

Solstice 2024 Rewards

Solstice provides various extra incentives in addition to its unique weapons and armor collections. These rewards are available to both players who play for free and those who pay, ensuring that everyone can partake in the benefits.

To progress through Solstice, the Event Card must be completed with triumphs. Doing so will reward players with a variety of useful items, such as Enhancement Cores, Prisms, Shards, Glimmer, and more.

In addition, obtaining these 16 triumphs will grant players the Flamekeeper title. For those who already possess the title, completing certain challenges will upgrade it with a striking golden border. This title is relatively simple to obtain, making it a top priority for those still in need of one.

For an additional fee, you can also obtain the Upgraded Event Card, which includes several cosmetics such as the ‘King of the Sea’ sparrow and ‘Worn-In Comfort’ shader. This can be acquired for 1,000 Silver, which is equivalent to $9.99 or £8.49.

The upcoming Solstice of 2024 is expected to bring significant changes to the game meta. It is crucial to stay updated on the top-performing PvE and PvP weapons in Destiny at the moment. Furthermore, utilizing the most effective Hunter, Titan, and Warlock builds will greatly enhance your experience during the event and increase your chances of obtaining valuable loot, god rolls, and rewards.
