All the details we have about The Dread and its place in The Final Shape upon its release on June 4 are listed below.
Who Are the Dread in Destiny 2?
After Lightfall was released in February 2023, Bungie gave Guardians a sneak peek of The Dread in Destiny 2 through the introduction of Subjugators and Tormentors. This marked the start of an exciting journey.
During the livestream preview of The Final Shape, Bungie unveiled three new types of enemies within the Dread, each possessing unique abilities that will require Guardians to adjust their tactics. These enemy variants are known as The Grim, The Husk, and Attendant and Weavers.
The Reaper
Bungie has stated that The Grim are the initial adversaries encountered in Destiny who possess the ability to fly. These creatures resemble large bats and wield weapons. When engaging players, they can emit shrill cries that can hinder their abilities and impede their movement if they are unlucky enough to be struck.
The Haunted Cornfield
On the contrary, husks are aggressive melee fighters armed with sharp, deadly blades. They are often found in packs and are capable of performing acrobatic maneuvers, making them a formidable threat if they get too close. As stated by Bungie, “they are quite dangerous…”.
If players do not kill Husks properly, geists hiding within the husks may find and detonate near them.
Participants and Spinners
The foes in Destiny 2 possess the power of Strand and Stasis, and have been transformed and manipulated by the game’s primary villain, The Witness.
Weavers possess the ability to unleash a potent Stand wave that draws players towards them, while Attendants are capable of shooting a Stasis blast that immobilizes and chills players upon contact.
Despite the seemingly threatening nature of these enemies, the addition of the Prismatic subclass in Destiny 2 will undoubtedly empower players to create effective strategies and approaches to overcome them.
