Destiny 2’s upcoming update, The Final Shape, aims to elevate the looter shooter’s fashion experience by redesigning Shader icons to better aid Guardians in their quest for stylish accessories.
Bungie has revealed plans for a revamp of the Shaders in The Final Shape. The updated icons are intended to aid Guardians in selecting their desired color scheme for their character, while also reducing any confusion.
As stated in the TWID, the developers are enhancing the appearance and layout of shader icons. The aim of this upgrade is to ensure that shader icons better reflect the colors and textures that will be applied to your character.
The developers clarified that while there are 6 distinct colors within each shader, only four of them are currently visible in the icon. This explains why certain shaders may appear drastically different when equipped.
Shader icons are getting a new look in The Final Shape.
In addition, Bungie addressed a concern regarding the equal sizing of colors on the shaders, which caused difficulties in identifying the primary colors of the shaders.
Bungie has addressed these concerns by updating the shader icon design to incorporate all six colors. Additionally, they are modifying the display of primary colors to increase their size and improve their accuracy in representing them.
The updated design also includes reflections of glows, making it easier for players to identify which shaders contain them in the shader selection screens.
This update will be released alongside The Final Shape, giving players the opportunity to maintain their stylish appearance as we confront the inevitable end.
