Destiny 2’s upcoming expansion, The Final Shape, promises more than just additional story missions. Players can anticipate a plethora of new activities, rewards, and Exotics to discover, including the highly sought-after ERGO SUM Sword.
This brand-new weapon synergizes perfectly with the new Transcendence mechanic, increasing in power with each enemy you defeat.
Getting ERGO SUM
In order to obtain the ERGO SUM, it is necessary to finish the Destined Heroes Exotic quest located in The Final Shape.
To access this mission, you must first finish all main missions in the expansion and then speak with your Ghost at the old Tower in The Lost City. This will allow you to obtain the quest and commence the mission.
Although Destined Heroes is a lengthy mission, it remains straightforward. There is minimal confusion regarding the necessary actions to take during its events, and you will adhere to the following objectives and steps:
- Listen to the strange radio transmission coming from the old Tower in the Lost City. It’s using a Hive frequency
- Investigate the activity of Savathȗn’s Lucent Hive near the portal
- Speak to Micah-10 through her conduit in the Arbor of Light
- Talk to Cayde-6 in the Lost City
- Ghost has something he wants to talk to you about. Go to the ledge of the old Tower in the Lost City to speak with him
- Talk to Ghost to begin the quests Lost in the Light and Found in the Dark. Work with your allies to explore the possibility of synergy between Light and Darkness
- Investigate spikes in Taken energy in the Refraction
- Go to the Lost City and confer with Ghost
- Use the Dyadic Prism to access the new landing zone in the Sacrarium and claim your destiny
After concluding Destined Heroes, ERGO SUM will become available in your arsenal for you to utilize.
What does ERGO SUM do?
The Final Shape introduces a new feature called Transcendence, which, when fully charged, enables you to briefly enter a more potent form. As a result, ERGO SUM is an ideal partner for this, as it gains increased strength when wielded in this state.
Moreover, obtaining a kill will prolong your Transcendence, allowing you to sustain this state indefinitely.
Additionally, it possesses a mighty uppercut alternative move that can launch adversaries into the air above you. This move also emits a forceful shockwave, supplementing its already potent attacks.
Moreover, it has the potential to be rolled randomly, indicating that upon unlocking it, its stats and abilities will be randomly assigned. You have the option of repeatedly unlocking ERGO SUM on a weekly basis to reroll it.
How to Obtain the ERGO SUM Catalyst
Obtaining the catalyst for ERGO SUM involves completing the 12-man mission Excision on Grandmaster difficulty, which is no simple feat. You will either need to gather 11 other Guardians or utilize an LFG service, as there is no matchmaking available for this mission.
Defeating the Witness on the Grandmaster difficulty will reward you with the catalyst, allowing it to be obtained in all future drops.
ERGO SUM catalyst changes
The ERGO SUM catalyst provides ammunition for the weapon when dealing damage with a Transcendent grenade. This is especially useful for maintaining consistent DPS, as it has the potential to activate multiple times from a single grenade, allowing for continuous attacks.
The weapon also benefits greatly from this feature, as ERGO SUM’s exotic perk results in reduced ammo collection, making the ammo obtained from the catalyst even more valuable. Additionally, achieving final blows will enhance your Light and Dark mastery, allowing for more frequent activation of Transcendence and the replenishment of ERGO SUM’s ammo.
