Destiny 2 Titans Demand Rework of Pointless Ability That’s Hardly Used

Destiny 2 players have deemed the Titan class ability as ineffective in the game’s PvE sandbox, leading to calls for a rework to make it more useful.

Titans have consistently found themselves on the receiving end of Bungie’s nerfs since the launch of Destiny 2. While Hunters and Warlocks have been granted powerful abilities and Exotics, Titans are often left with fewer choices. Even the few popular options available to them are not exempt from nerfs, as seen with the notable example of Synthoceps.

Despite the disappointment expressed by players, the Titan Barricade Shield has been deemed a “pointless wall”with no beneficial effects. The issue lies in its lack of additional utility and fragility, rendering it ineffective in its intended purpose of protecting against incoming damage.

Players took to Reddit to voice their concerns and demand buffs to resolve the issue. In a comment, one player stated, “There should be a fix for the constant AoE attacks that result in death, even when a Shield is raised.”

One user shared their disappointment with this ability, stating, “I hope they completely revamp Barricade.”

Why do Titan subclasses interact so little with its barricade? It makes the ability feel even more useless. byu/Load-BearingGnome inDestinyTheGame

Despite this, Hunter dodges offer a unique benefit every time they are used, such as buffs, automatic reloading, or increased survivability. Similarly, Warlock rifts can either enhance damage or provide immediate healing. Some players have even created builds that take advantage of Warlock Rifts by activating potent aspects, like Child of the Old Gods or the Strand Swarmers.

Despite being designed for Titans, the Barricade Shield does not offer any safety or buffs. Although the Void Barricade can provide an Overshield and the Strand Barricade can suspend enemies, both abilities only have a short duration.

Even the use of barricades can have negative consequences. If they are deployed during boss DPS, players are at risk of accidentally hitting it with their Rocket Launchers or Heavy GLs, resulting in their own death.

Frequent PvP players may frequently voice their grievances about the negative impact of Titan Barricades on Trials of Osiris. While it is undeniable that Titan Barricades are effective in PvP, particularly for controlling zones, their effectiveness is significantly diminished in PvE. Therefore, immediate action is necessary to prevent Titans from losing their edge even more.
