Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Update: This Week’s Featured Map and Weapon

Destiny 2’s premier PVP event, Trials of Osiris, returns once again. This guide covers this week’s featured map and weapon, providing insights into the competitive aspects of the game.

With the release of The Final Shape, Trials returns for another expansion, giving Guardians additional chances to compete for glory. New weapons available include Aisha’s Care and the revived Shayura’s Wrath, which can be farmed during Echoes Act 3.

While the playlist has faced challenges like cheating and technical issues in the broader Destiny 2 experience, Bungie has implemented updates in recent seasons to enhance the overall playability.

Featured Trials of Osiris Map This Week

This week’s featured Trials of Osiris map is Distant Shore. On this Crucible map, controlling the river is crucial to thwart the opposing team and counter any flanking attempts.

Each week, Trials of Osiris features a new map, maintaining a fresh experience and allowing players of different skill sets to excel. Certain maps may favor close-quarters battle (CQB), while others are better suited for Scout Rifles and Snipers. Being aware of the featured map will help determine the best loadout for optimal performance.

Featured Trials of Osiris Rewards & Weapon This Week

This weekend’s rewards for Trials of Osiris include:

  • Rank 4 – Upgrade Module (x3)
  • Rank 7 – Enhancement Prism (x3)
  • Rank 10 – Aisha’s Care (Strand Pulse Rifle)
  • Rank 13 – Ascendant Alloy (x1)
  • Rank 16 – Shayura’s Wrath (Void SMG)
  • Featured Weapon – The Prophet (Adept Scout Rifle)

The Summoner is this week’s featured weapon in Trials of Osiris.

Unlike the previous reward system that required 3, 5, 7, and Flawless win thresholds, players now earn Trials Engrams for increasing their reputation with Saint-14 located in the Tower’s Hangar.

Once a weapon is received at least once, it can be focused for the cost of a Trials Engram, simplifying the process of farming for favored weapon rolls. Additionally, players can acquire Adept gear and armor with higher stat rolls by achieving Flawless runs.

Trials of Osiris Passages Explained

With the changes implemented in the Season of the Lost, Trials of Osiris has updated its Passages. These items grant access to the Trials playlist each weekend, with several noteworthy updates:

  • Passages no longer track losses
    • Each Passage is either Flawless or not, allowing continuous play and reward earning despite losses.
    • Players can reset their Passage after a loss but are not required to do so after three losses on their card.
  • Passages now track up to 20 rounds won.
  • All Passages have seen a significant reduction in prices.
  • Passages are account-wide, enabling use across all characters for rewards.

Understanding these changes and how they affect your gameplay can be essential. Here’s a breakdown of each Passage and their benefits:

  • Passage of Mercy: Forgives two losses if you haven’t achieved Flawless that week; offers one after achieving it.
    • This is the ideal Passage for reaching the Lighthouse, granting one free loss without needing to reset.
  • Passage of Ferocity: Grants a bonus win after three wins on your card.
    • This option is preferred for near-Flawless runs, allowing you to skip a match on the way to the Lighthouse.
  • Passage of Wealth: Rewards additional Trials rank on every win, with increasing rewards as your major rank increases.
    • This is best for players focused on farming Trials rewards rather than achieving Flawless.
  • Passage of Confidence: Provides a bonus reward from the Flawless chest but can only be obtained after achieving Flawless that week.
    • This Passage is for confident players who aim for higher rewards at the Lighthouse, though it is challenging to use.
  • Passage of Persistence: Reduces the impact of losses by rewarding the weekly Adept weapon at seven wins, regardless of game performance.
    • While not as rewarding as the Passage of Wealth, it suits casual players looking to obtain an Adept weapon.

Selecting the right Passage for yourself and your teammates is crucial to optimizing your experience in the playlist each weekend.
