Destiny 2 Update 8.0.5.5 Compounds Issues with the Accidental Generosity Challenge

Destiny 2’s patch 8.0.5.5 was intended to make the engram requirements for the Accidental Generosity Triumph more achievable, but players report that conditions remain unchanged.

As part of the celebration for Destiny 2’s 10th anniversary, Bungie offered players the opportunity to earn the Legend title by completing a series of Triumphs.

However, one specific Triumph has generated significant frustration within the community. The Accidental Generosity challenge requires Guardians to defeat enemies and collect engrams in Skywatch while wearing either the Veteran Legend Armor set or its Ornaments.

Shortly after the Triumph’s introduction, players expressed concerns over the low enemy encounters, making it difficult to complete the challenge. Those who found enough foes often reported a shortage of engram drops.

In a post-update session, Twitch streamer Awoken Queen encountered an enemy ship that only spawned a single adversary.

On other forums, Destiny 2 players have reported similar or even worse experiences. One Reddit user lamented, “There’s still literally no enemies in the Skywatch…”

Another user in the discussion noted that after 30 minutes of gameplay post-update, they managed to complete all necessary kills but only received “one engram worth 6%.”

Reports on the official Bungie forums reflect similar sentiments. One frustrated player claimed to have dedicated two hours to the Accidental Generosity challenge and only earned a single engram. “Increased the amount of ads?… just increased the disappointment really,”they commented sarcastically.

Even when Bungie developers initially shared patch notes, players were skeptical that merely increasing enemy density would adequately address the prevailing issue, and the feedback from the updated game appears to support their concerns.

Currently, the community hopes that Bungie will either enhance the engram drop rates or reduce the number of engrams needed to complete the Accidental Generosity Triumph. As of now, Bungie has not responded to these ongoing complaints.
