In 2021, Vault of Glass made its triumphant return to Destiny 2 during the Season of the Splicer, bringing with it a refreshed loot table from its original version in the first Destiny. This iconic raid not only allowed players to experience its thrilling challenges once more but also provided a suite of new perks tailored for Destiny 2’s gameplay landscape.
The launch of Episode Heresy on February 4 further enriched the experience, as Vault of Glass joined the ranks of legacy raids like Crota’s End and King’s Fall. Players can now craft six unique weapons with exciting new features, including the novel Timelost Magazine Origin Trait that enhances weapon performance.
Like every raid, Vault of Glass presents Guardians with various rewards: three distinct armor sets for Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters, alongside an exclusive Exotic weapon and a series of engaging challenges designed to test their skills against the Vex adversaries on Venus.

Understanding the Loot Distribution
The loot distribution in Vault of Glass closely follows the structure employed in most raids, with each encounter offering specific item drops. For players aiming to acquire particular weapons, focusing on separate encounters can be more efficient than completing the entire raid. Moreover, each encounter provides an opportunity to obtain a Red Border version of the weapon, with a total of five needed to unlock its crafting Pattern.
Exotic Weapon Overview: Vex Mythoclast

- Weapon Type: Solar Fusion Rifle
- Exotic Perks: Timeless Mythoclast, Temporal Unlimiter
- Catalyst Effect: Grants bonus damage, accuracy, and stability for a short duration upon final blows during full-auto mode.
The exotic Vex Mythoclast can randomly drop after defeating Atheon, the final boss of the Vault of Glass. Players who find that luck has eluded them despite multiple attempts may find success by completing the encounter challenges, which further improve the drop rate for this coveted weapon.
Despite being classified as a Fusion Rifle, Vex Mythoclast operates more like an Auto Rifle due to its Timeless Mythoclast perk, enabling a full-auto firing mode. Additionally, thanks to the Temporal Unlimiter perk, players can achieve powerful single shots similar to those from Linear Fusion Rifles by accumulating Overcharge stacks from defeating enemies.

As of Episode Heresy, every legendary weapon crafted within the Vault of Glass can be acquired by collecting five Red Border variations, whether found as drops or by utilizing a Deepsight Harmonizer. Additionally, the raid introduces the Timelost Magazine Origin Trait, which offers the following advantage:
Timelost Magazine: Each final blow with this weapon generates extra Super energy. Moreover, upon Super expiration, the weapon’s magazine size doubles for a significant time and automatically reloads from reserves.
This trait provides a powerful advantage that potentially revolutionizes the performance of several weapons, particularly those like Corrective Measure, Fatebringer, and Hezen Vengeance, which traditionally feature slower reload rates or smaller magazine sizes. With proper synergy, Timelost Magazine can elevate these weapons to a competitive tier.

Armor sets from Vault of Glass drop from specific encounters and are restricted to the class of the character participating in the raid. Once obtained, players can utilize armor synthesis to obtain the associated Universal Ornament from Ada-1 at the Tower using Synthweave obtained from Bounties.
Vault of Glass Challenges
- Wait for It: Wyverns can only be eliminated while sacrificing to the Confluxes.
- The Only Oracle for You: A single Oracle cannot be destroyed by the same Guardian more than once.
- Out of its Way: Prevent the Templar from teleporting even once by using the Relic.
- Strangers in Time: Eliminate Praetorians and Wyverns simultaneously.
- Ensemble’s Refrain: Guardians teleported by Atheon can destroy only one Oracle each per set.

Completing these challenges increases the drop rate of Vex Mythoclast.
Vault of Glass presents five distinct challenges, with one available weekly as standard. When the raid is one of the two that are featured (rotating bi-weekly), all challenges become active for completion. Players who accomplish these tasks contribute to a permanent increase in Vex Mythoclast’s drop rate, along with an additional chance for weapon or armor drops. However, the bonus drop for weaponry only applies to the first successful completion, while armor drop opportunities can be repeated endlessly.
