Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host Dungeon Guide: Release Date, Contest Mode Details, Rewards, and More

Destiny 2 is set to release its next significant content update, Episode Revenant, on October 8. This update will introduce a revamped sandbox, new seasonal activities, loot to obtain, and a storyline focused on the Scorn’s menacing antagonist, Fikrul.

While the Revenant update won’t feature a new Raid, a fresh dungeon named Vesper’s Host will provide Guardians with an endgame challenge, urging players to reach the new pinnacle Power cap of 2010.

Vesper’s Host Dungeon Release Date

The Vesper’s Host Dungeon is officially scheduled for release on October 11, 2024, just three days after the launch of Revenant. Similar to the previous dungeon, Warlord’s Ruin, players can anticipate Vesper’s Host to become accessible with the daily reset at 6 PM BST and 1 PM EST.

Contest Mode & World First Race

Much like Contest Mode for Raids, Vesper’s Host will feature this modifier for 48 hours following its initial release. Normal Mode will unlock once three Fireteams have cleared Contest Mode. A suggested Power Level of 1985 is recommended for all encounters.

According to Bungie’s detailed outline for the first Dungeon Contest Mode in Destiny 2, here are key details:

  • Enemies will be more aggressive.
  • Encounters will utilize resurrection tokens.
  • Some encounters will implement enrage mechanics.
  • Character Power offers no advantage beyond the recommended level of 1985.

Completing Vesper’s Host in Contest Mode will reward players with a unique Emblem and a guaranteed drop of the dungeon’s exclusive Exotic. Vesper’s Host Exotic

The iconic Sniper Rifle from the original Destiny, Ice Breaker, will make its long-awaited debut in Destiny 2 with Vesper’s Host. It remains to be seen whether this Exotic will maintain the unique perks from its previous version, but updates will be provided once it goes live.

Ice Breaker was notorious in the original Destiny for its No Backpack perk, allowing the weapon to automatically regenerate ammo over time instead of needing to be reloaded, effectively giving it infinite ammo.

Its other distinct perk, Ice Breaker, caused enemies to burst into flames upon death. Since Ice Breaker has been changed from Solar to Stasis in Destiny 2, it’s likely that this effect will undergo significant modifications.

Legendary Weapons & Armor

Apart from the Exotic, Bungie has yet to disclose the weapons and armor available from Vesper’s Host. This guide will be updated to include all new items once they are revealed.

There has been speculation among players that, given Ice Breaker is a nostalgic relic from the original Destiny, other loot may also consist of retro gear. However, Bungie has not confirmed this theory.

That covers everything we know so far about Vesper’s Host.
