Excision, the latest 12-man Grandmaster activity in Destiny 2, was completed by a single Guardian within a day of its release, despite its difficulty.
The newest form of endgame activity, Grandmaster Excision, has just been released in Destiny 2. Initially presented as a 12-man story mission, this activity requires a large team of Guardians to join forces with the allies of humanity and defeat the Witness once and for all. Utilizing the power of Light, they must push back the Darkness.
The Grandmaster version of Excision elevates the activity by introducing additional champions and increasing the difficulty, while also diminishing the strength of Guardians in the encounter.
Despite this, there is still one player who has managed to completely dominate the Grandmaster challenge, successfully completing it on their own in under 24 hours since its release.
Esoterickk, a popular Destiny 2 Youtuber, is highly recognized for their incredible challenge runs. These challenges range from completing the co-op Dual Destiny mission solo to showcasing solo runs of GM strikes. Due to their impressive skills, they have earned a reputation as one of the most skilled Guardians in the community, which they have once again proven with their latest triumph.
In a video lasting over 80 minutes, Esoterickk soloed the mission while discussing their Void Hunter build and choice of weapons, including the exotics Witherhoard, Wish Ender, and Graviton Forfeit. Throughout the video, Esoterickk utilized invisibility to take down high-health targets from a distance in order to prevent wiping.
Despite the enemies having a high amount of health and limited options for DPS, it is understandable why the run lasted over an hour. The content creator acknowledged that they could have potentially finished it faster, but they were not familiar with the enemy spawns and chose to take a cautious approach.
You can now play as Grandmaster Excision, earning the exotic catalyst for Ergo Sum and a bounty of amazing loot. Best of luck to all Guardians attempting to match Esotrickk’s impressive solo run.
