Destiny 2’s Adept Trials of Osiris Weapons Made More Attainable Than Ever

Bungie has announced upcoming changes to the Trials of Osiris, a pinnacle PvP activity in Destiny 2. These changes, which will be implemented in a future patch, will make it easier for players to obtain the highly coveted Adept weapons.

As stated in the This Week In Destiny blog post on July 25, the developer acknowledged the success of previous tweaks to the playlist in increasing Trials’ player population. However, they are planning to make additional changes to encourage players to team up and play together.

The focus is on the Passage of Persistence obtained from Saint-14, which eliminates the penalty of losses entirely. However, this will only apply in a specific circumstance.

The patch preview states:

Trials of Osiris
- Passage of Persistence Update for Trios – While in a 3-person fireteam, losses will not remove a win from this Passage.
- Passage of Persistence – When you play as a trio, we have updated the Passage of Persistence so that losses will no longer remove wins. This means when you play Trials as a full fireteam on the Passage of Persistence, you only need to get 7 wins total, and you will receive a drop of the weekly Adept weapon. Quitting a match will still result in having a win subtracted. You must complete the match for it to forgive the loss.

After the update, any Guardian queuing for Trials with a complete pre-made Fireteam and a Passage of Persistence will be guaranteed to receive the Adept weapon for that week, without the fear of setbacks from losses.

Despite being a great help for inexperienced players in PvP, it is important to mention that even with a Passage of Persistence, losing will still result in being unable to access the Lighthouse. This means that you will still have to win seven consecutive matches to earn the privilege.
