Destiny 2’s Best Sword for Upcoming Event

Destiny 2 will be granting Swords a significant boost next week through an in-game event that offers unlimited regenerating ammunition in the majority of activities.

The event will be active from September 3 until the weekly reset on September 10, allowing Swords to have a significant boost in power during this time. However, this temporary buff will not apply in Raids as Bungie states that it would make competitive game modes too easy.

To fully capitalize on this event, it is recommended to have a meta Sword in your possession before it commences. While there are many excellent Swords available in Destiny, the Falling Guillotine stands out as the top choice for dealing high DPS and defeating bosses.

The Void Sword was reintroduced in Season 23, and Bungie added a highly desirable perk pool to it. This includes popular damage perks such as Frenzy and Vorpal Weapon in column three, as well as Bait & Switch, Sword Logic, and Surrounded in column four.

The Falling Guillotine stands out with its impressive perk pool, making it the top-performing sword in the game. In particular, this PvE god roll is exceptionally powerful.

  • Guard: Swordmaster’s Guard
  • Perk 1: Frenzy
  • Perk 2: Bait and Switch/Surrounded

Those who played during Into The Light may have a shiny Falling Guillotine stored in their vault.

Frenzy is the clear top choice in its category, offering a 15% increase in damage that can be activated effortlessly. While Vorpal Weapon is also a viable option, it only grants a 10% boost for Heavy weapons, making Frenzy the preferred choice for maximizing DPS rotations.

On the other hand, Surrounded offers an impressive 40% increase in damage upon activation. However, this ability requires the presence of at least three nearby enemies, which may not always be feasible. For a more versatile option, Surrounded can be used instead, providing a 30% damage buff that is easier to trigger.

To obtain the Falling Guillotine, players must complete runs of Onslaught located in the Vanguard destination tab. It is highly advised to attune the Void Sword at Commander Zavala before participating, as this will increase the chance of the Sword dropping by 60%.

If Onslaught does not interest you, you may want to consider acquiring Ergo Sum or Bequest instead. These Swords are highly regarded in Destiny 2 and are also popular in the current meta, making them excellent choices for the upcoming event.
