Although the stock offered by Destiny 2’s resident Gunsmith is usually not worth spending Engrams on, the weekly reset on July 30 brought two guns for sale from Banshee-44 that demand serious consideration.
At the Tower’s vendor, there are two Scout Rifles that can be focused using Engrams. According to a PSA shared by a user on Reddit, both of these rifles have the potential to roll a powerful combination of perks.
Despite their impressive damage capabilities, long-ranged archetypes have the drawback of forcing Guardians to approach enemies in order to collect Orbs of Power and ammunition during intense combat situations.
The key weakness of not being able to loot resources while shooting them is bypassed by Shoot to Loot. Both Staccato-45 and Perses-D can utilize this perk, but what sets them apart is the added advantage of pairing Shoot to Loot with Explosive Payload.
The splash damage of the latter reduces the need for precise aiming at Orbs or ammo bricks, resulting in a more consistent gameplay loop.
Weapon focusing at Banshee costs three Gunsmith Engrams and 5,000 Glimmer each.
Although it is not advisable to actively grind for Gunsmith Engrams, the limited selection of valuable items in Banshee’s store has allowed players ample opportunity to accumulate the necessary currency.
Acquiring a weapon focus requires three Engrams and 5,000 Glimmer. Therefore, depending on the amount you have saved up, you may have a decent possibility of obtaining the desired combination.
When it comes to deciding which Scout to focus on, it ultimately depends on your preferred Element and loadout. Staccato is a Solar weapon whereas Perses is Stasis, so it would be wise to use Engrams on whichever option best aligns with your build.
On the other hand, in case you run out of Engrams without any rewards, it might be beneficial to wait for an upcoming update that will make farming for Hung Jury even easier.
