Destiny thanks Trainwreck for helping get his “hate speech” Kick ban lifted

Steven ‘Destiny’ Bonnell, a Twitch streamer and political commentator, expressed his gratitude to Trainwreck, another broadcaster, for assisting in lifting his ban from Kick for “hate speech.”

On July 16, Destiny disclosed that he had been prohibited from using Kick due to his inflammatory statements about Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old firefighter who was the victim of the Trump rally shooting.

During his livestream, Destiny stated that he would mock any of his conservative followers on Twitter/X the following day if they were to die at an event.

Despite initially being told that his ban from the platform would last until July 31 due to his refusal to apologize for his comments, it wasn’t long before he received the ban.

Despite the initial ban, Kick co-founder Trainwreck’s efforts have resulted in Destiny’s ban being lifted a week ahead of schedule. In a broadcast on July 21, Destiny publicly acknowledged and thanked Trainwreck for his assistance in resolving the situation.

“Destiny mentioned that Trainwreck had been in communication with Kick’s moderation team. After chatting with them, they also reached out to Destiny and the two parties had a back and forth conversation. Destiny expressed surprise at the situation, exclaiming “Damn.”

Destiny’s Kick ban triggered a passionate discussion on social media, and even drew the interest of Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter/X, who demonetized Destiny’s account due to its “unsuitable”content for advertisers.

Despite Kick’s decision to draw the line at Destiny’s comments, fellow streamer Asmongold expressed his frustration and called out the platform for its inconsistency, citing numerous other outrageous acts that have been allowed to occur.

“According to him, removing partnerships or other privileges may be acceptable, but removing him from the platform while allowing others who regularly commit felonies to remain is absurd.”

Destiny has faced consequences for his comments from streaming platforms before. In 2020, he was stripped of his partnership with Twitch for inciting violence towards protestors. Additionally, he was permanently banned from the site in 2022.
