Developers of Marvel Rivals acknowledge issues with Twitch drops and ensure more Closed Beta keys will be available

NetEase, the developer of Marvel Rivals, has publicly apologized to players who have encountered difficulties in redeeming Twitch Drops keys during the Closed Beta. They have also assured that more keys will be made available.

The Closed Beta for Marvel Rivals is currently in progress, and players are still facing challenges in obtaining game keys. Prior to the beta, NetEase had promised fans that the game would accommodate five times the number of players compared to the Alpha Test.

Despite this, there are still many potential players who have been unable to acquire game keys even after utilizing the Twitch Drops method.

When attempting to redeem Twitch Drops, players are being met with an error message stating that the CBT keys have run out of stock due to their distribution being based on a “first come, first served”system.

One player expressed frustration, stating that they stayed up until 1 am trying to confirm their platform choice on the website, only to find that it wouldn’t load. When it finally did load, the player was disappointed to see that all the keys had been claimed.

“Can you believe it? This has been such a terrible experience,”another person added.

NetEase issued an apology to players via a post on X, in addition to providing an explanation for why certain users are unable to obtain a key.

“In their statement, they expressed deep regret for their website’s lack of preparation to handle the overwhelming enthusiasm of the players, which ultimately led to a negative experience for them.”

“According to NetEase, there were reports of webpage display problems and certain players who had redeemed CBT codes were not seeing a successful claim. NetEase advises players to revisit the Twitch Drop page and re-click the ‘Redeem’ button to verify if they have received their CBT code. Once successfully claimed, players can view their key by clicking the ‘Redeem’ button.”

In addition, they spoke to players who are still unable to receive keys even after watching an eligible broadcast for an hour.

“If you have completed your 60-minute watch time but all the codes for the day have already been claimed, there is no need to worry. Simply refresh the page the following day and you can redeem the codes without having to complete the task again.”

To gain access to the Marvel Rivals Closed Beta, individuals were required to complete a form, request access through Steam, or acquire a key via Twitch Drops. While the first two options selected participants randomly, Twitch Drops was the preferred method for obtaining a guaranteed key.

NetEase has notified fans that they are working urgently to address any other related issues, in order to allow the maximum number of players possible to take part in the Closed Beta Test.
