With the recent release of Diablo 4, the focus of Diablo 3 has shifted significantly towards revisiting and remixing its older seasonal content. Diablo 3 Season 34, titled Light’s Calling, is set to carry on this tradition. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season.
Although the arrival of Diablo 4 marked the end of new content for Diablo 3, the game continues to thrive through seasonal mechanics that draw from the extensive library of previous seasons. It’s crucial to note that while players may encounter familiar themes, this does not entail completely new experiences in Diablo 3, but rather a refreshing take on established concepts.
Season 29 was originally designated as the last to introduce exclusive new features. However, Seasons 30 and beyond have opted to reintroduce elements from earlier seasons, including the upcoming Season 34. This latest iteration promises intriguing challenges and gameplay enhancements derived from its predecessors.
Note that the Darkening of Tristram event will still be active when Season 34 launches.
Launch Date for Diablo 3 Season 34
Diablo 3 Season 34: Light’s Calling is scheduled to commence on January 24 at 5 PM PST/CET/KST/GMT across all server regions. Furthermore, Season 33 will officially conclude on January 19 at the same time, paving the way for the new season.
Key Features of Diablo 3 Season 34
This season will reinstate the Light’s Calling theme, which first emerged in Season 27. Players will aim to collect Angelic Crucibles, a unique consumable item that allows the “Sanctification” of any equippable Legendary item, randomly imbuing it with one of three new class-specific powers.
The core design of this season encourages players to enhance their weapons, unlocking fun effects and significant damage potential. Concurrently, it will run alongside the Darkening of Tristram event, which will continue until January 31, 2025.
As the launch of Season 34 approaches, players are encouraged to finalize their character progression in Season 33, transferring all items to their storage to prepare for the transition into the Eternal (non-seasonal) realm.
