The developers of Diablo 4 have announced that Temper Manuals will continue to be available in Season 5, despite not being included in the original plan for the season.
As a new character must be created for each season, it is not possible for loot to transfer between seasons. However, due to a bug in Season 5, Temper Manuals from the previous season are carrying over and Blizzard has chosen to allow this to continue.
According to Adam Fletcher, Blizzard’s Global Community Development Director, we have received reports that new seasonal characters are retaining their tempering recipes from their previous season’s character.
“According to Fletcher, this deviation from the original design or intention is not something we should anticipate for future seasons. However, we have decided to overlook it for Season 5.”
We are aware of the reports that new seasonal characters are having their tempering recipes carried over from their last seasons seasonal character. This isn’t the original design or intention so I wouldn’t expect this for future seasons but we are letting this one slide for…

The developers did not intend for it to be included in Season 5, but they ultimately chose to transform this minor glitch into a new feature. However, this will not be a recurring occurrence in the future seasons and they are currently overlooking it.
Some players expressed concern that the seasonal goal of learning a new recipe would not be achievable after this, but Fletcher reassured them that there are still new Tempering recipes to be found in Season of the Infernal Hordes. Other players were delighted by this news and even requested that the developers make this new recipe a permanent addition.
Keeping Temper Manuals from the previous season is a huge relief for players who would have otherwise had to continuously work to obtain them again. Before the new season began, there was likely disappointment that their efforts in earning recipes would be in vain, but luckily a glitch has spared them from hours of tedious grinding.
Despite the short season, players will have the opportunity to participate in new activities like Hellbreach Dungeons due to the carryover of Temper recipes. This will allow for more time to experience different challenges and adventures.
