With the release of any new video game update, there are inevitably going to be issues, particularly with live-service titles. Such was the case with Diablo 4, which presented players with a multitude of problems during the launch of Season 5.
Blizzard released Season of the Infernal Hordes on August 6 at 1 PM ET, and fans were quick to notice issues with the Season 5 patch. These problems included freezing, black screens, and even crashes.
On Reddit, players expressed their complaints about their difficulties in playing Diablo 4 after the patch, despite having no issues prior. A fan on the forum inquired about the game’s increased lag and wondered if others were experiencing the same problems.
Upon playing, this individual encountered frequent freezes and sudden appearances of mobs, along with quest markers appearing on the minimap before the objective was activated. As expected, numerous players also shared their experiences and created their own posts regarding the issue.
Despite having an influx of players logging in simultaneously, it is expected that there will be numerous connection issues with any online game. In response to this, one person simply advised to “wait for a few days and then check again.”

On the Diablo 4 subreddit, another user posted a video showcasing their experience with the game shortly after the launch of Season 5. The video depicted their character facing difficulty in movement and an inability to access the Skill Tree.
Despite the numerous Reddit posts addressing the difficulties with the Season of the Infernal Hordes, a handful of solutions have been proposed.
One individual on the Diablo 4 community forum suggested disabling crossplay in the game’s settings, while another user recommended lowering the resolution. However, it is unlikely that these suggestions will solve the issue, as it is likely due to the servers being overwhelmed with the large number of players joining for the new season.
On the other hand, disabling crossplay can potentially alleviate the strain on servers and improve your chances of having a smoother gameplay experience.
Additionally, fans have observed an increase in the occurrence of error code 75 messages. Although this error was not a novel one, it could still negatively impact a player’s enjoyment while trying to participate in a new Season.
