Diablo 4 community divided on whether Spiritborn justifies Vessel of Hatred’s price.

The community of Diablo 4 is doubtful about the pricing of the upcoming Vessel of Hatred DLC, as players question whether the addition of the new Spiritborn class is worth the expense.

Diablo 4 has faced similar controversies in the past. Ever since its release, players have consistently expressed their dissatisfaction with the game’s pricing and inclusion of microtransactions.

Even though the base game was already expensive at $70, players were even more outraged by the high prices in the in-game shop. The most talked about issue was the $65 mount bundle, which was almost the same price as the full game.

The Vessel of Hatred DLC, set to release in October, will introduce the Spiritborn class and offer additional content for a price of $39.99.

Despite the addition of a new class, players are questioning the justification of the expensive price and expressing their dissatisfaction in the comments of a Spiritborn promo teaser on X.

Despite some recognizing Spiritborn as a valuable addition, there are still many who remain unconvinced of its worth and question the cost.

According to players, Vessel of Hatred is priced similarly to Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which provides an average of 24 hours of gameplay and has received a 95 score on Metacritic.

A fan inquired, “What other features does Vessel of Hatred provide that justify its price?”

The majority of the expansion’s pre-release information has revolved around the Spiritborn class, which Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson has described as “flawed in the most enjoyable manner.”

Despite the attention surrounding Spiritborn, the DLC also includes other exciting content. Vessel of Hatred features new towns, dungeons, and a multi-faceted dungeon that requires collaboration.

The Steam description for Vessel of Hatred states that players can anticipate the addition of new enemies, Mercenaries, and Pets to assist them on their journey. Upcoming updates will also introduce fresh skills, Paragon Boards, and Legendary Glyphs for all classes, as well as new activities and rewards.

When Vessel of Hatred is released, Diablo 4 players will be able to discover a plethora of new content – as long as Blizzard is able to demonstrate that the cost is justified.
