Diablo 4 Devs Consider Extending Mother’s Blessing After Rocky Patch 1.5.1 Launch

The beginning of Diablo 4’s Patch 1.5.1 and the associated Mother’s Blessing event has faced challenges. In response, Blizzard is contemplating an extension of the event to compensate for the delay.

The fifth major content update for Diablo 4 Season 5 is now in full swing and, overall, players have been highly satisfied with it. The Infernal Hordes feature has been particularly praised, but there have been several bugs and performance problems that have hindered its potential.

The soldiers of Sanctuary had been preparing for the release of Patch 1.5.1 and the accompanying Mother’s Blessing tie-in event. They were optimistic that these updates would address some of the major issues with Diablo 4 Season 5.

Although the Mother’s Blessing event and Patch 1.5.1 were both launched, they have encountered several problems that have impacted players. In response, Blizzard is currently investigating a potential hotfix and considering extending the event.

The patch was released for consoles on August 20, however, PC players on the Diablo 4 Forums have stated that they have not yet received the update on their platform. Additionally, the arrival of Patch 1.5.1 on consoles has brought along various issues, worsening the situation.

The patch notes had promised “a stockpile of Legendary items with guaranteed Greater Affixes”to compensate for the issue encountered in patch 1.5.0, where players were not receiving items with guaranteed Greater Affixes from various sources.

Several players have encountered issues where they do not receive the cache, despite attempting suggested workarounds. While some players have successfully received the cache, others have reported not receiving an item with a Greater Affix.

Following the release of the new patch, there have been reports of bugs and crashes within Infernal Hordes and issues with servers. Due to the persistent problems, Blizzard has temporarily suspended the boosts from the Mother’s Blessing event and Community Manager Adam Fletcher has announced a hotfix is on its way.

In addition to the hotfix, Fletcher stated that the Diablo 4 team is exploring ways to compensate players for the inconvenience. He announced, “We will consider extending the current event or a future event to make up for the lost time.”

Despite no further official updates on the patch or event, Fletcher has assured that updates will be provided as soon as concrete details are available.
