Diablo 4 Fans Find Classic Location on Map and Get Nostalgic

Players of Diablo 4 have come across what they believe to be Kurast Docks on the game’s map, sparking excitement for the upcoming DLC and evoking feelings of nostalgia for Diablo 2.

The upcoming game Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will bring players back to Kurast, the Nahantu region’s capital city and the birthplace of the Witch Doctors and Spiritborn classes. This was the same city that was invaded by Mephisto’s army in Diablo 2 before he was banished back to Hell.

Despite the fact that Diablo 4 has a more expansive world compared to its predecessors, a significant portion of the Sanctuary’s main continent is already accessible within the game. Nevertheless, the area of Kurast remained inaccessible and concealed on the world map.

As the DLC’s October release date approaches, players are closely analyzing the map’s layout and studying footage from the Spiritborn reveal to determine the possible location of Kurast Docks.

A post was shared on Reddit displaying a comparison of the world map and a render of Kurast from Diablo 2.

This caused fans to experience a wave of nostalgia for the setting and to become excited about revisiting Kurast years later, both in the game and in real life.

During the game, a player commented, “This will be intriguing because many of the smaller “districts”on the d4 map are like entire zones in other Diablo games. It was nice to see familiar places from d3 in d4, bringing a slight sense of nostalgia.”

Some also expressed their excitement by exclaiming “I can’t wait”or referencing memorable lines from Diablo 2, such as “Welcome traveler. I hope you’re ready to use your wits, as sanity is scarce in this realm”and “Damn it, I warned you all to leave me be!”

Despite some fans expressing reservations about revisiting the dense jungles of the region, many were still eager to see how it would be portrayed in the upcoming expansion. One fan shared, “Honestly, I always found Kurast in D2 to be a bit gloomy and navigating through its labyrinthine jungle was a challenge. However, I’m curious to see how D4 will reimagine Kurast.”

The Iron Wolves protected Kurast in Diablo 2 and were featured in the fourth season’s storyline of Diablo 4. The area suffered destruction following this game, making it intriguing to witness its transformation in the Vessel of Hatred DLC, and discover Mephisto’s intentions.
