The upcoming fifth season of Diablo 4 will feature a new endgame challenge known as Infernal Hordes. This activity will allow players to test their builds and conquer hordes of demons in order to obtain the Spoils of Hell.
Similar to Helltides, the rogue-lite mode in Diablo 4 can only be accessed by entering the Realm of Hatred. To gain entry, there are certain tasks that must be completed. Below is a guide on the steps required before facing this mode in Diablo 4.
Infernal Hordes Explained
The Infernal Hordes, an upcoming rogue-lite addition to Diablo 4 Season 5, will require players to battle through never-ending waves of Hell’s Legions in the Realm of Hatred. Comparable to Helltides, this endgame feature will challenge players to vanquish evil creatures in order to obtain Burning Aether.
If your goal is to confront these demons, you will need to endure 90-second waves and eliminate all enemies in your path. Following each wave, you will be presented with a choice of three Infernal Offers.
After successfully defeating numerous hordes in the chosen Tier, you will progress to the Well of Hatred where you will confront the Fell Council. The Council consists of once-noble priests who have been corrupted and now ally with demons in their mission to eradicate humanity.
The Fell Council consists of five members, each possessing a unique ability. In each encounter, you will face three randomly chosen members. Once you have defeated them, you can use your Burning Aether to acquire the Spoils of Hell.
Infernal Offers in Diablo 4
After defeating every Infernal Horde, you will be presented with three options from Hell to choose from, each offering a unique Boon or Bane to alter your run. These options, known as Infernal Offers, will accumulate throughout the entirety of your run.
Remember that using Infernal Offers can raise the level of challenge in your game, allowing you to earn a higher amount of Burning Aether.
You can choose Infernal Offers after defeating each wave.
How does the Infernal Compass work?
The Infernal Compass, which can be obtained at Tiers I-III in Diablo 4, allows players to access the Realm of Hatred. Additionally, a Hell Compass can be acquired by defeating Endgame bosses, conquering Helltides, completing Nightmare Dungeons, and uncovering Whispers.
In addition, you have the option to utilize them for choosing the level of challenge in your Infernal Horde run. The Infernal Compasses come in eight Tiers, which are graded according to difficulty and World Tier. Each Tier raises the number of waves, beginning at five for Tiers I-III and eventually reaching a maximum of 10 waves with a Tier VIII Infernal Compass.
You can get Infernal Compasses after defeating endgame bosses, as Whisper bounties, and more.
By acquiring Abyssal Scrolls, you have the opportunity to enhance your Infernal Compass and elevate its level to Tier VIII. However, please note that advancing Tiers will result in a higher difficulty for demons and greater rewards, while also reducing the number of revives available.
Infernal Compasses can effectively function at various levels and World Tiers, as outlined below:
- Tier I
- Available at World Tier III
- Tier II
- Available at World Tier IV
- Includes Bonus Affixes which increase crafting materials, and Legendary and Unique Drop rates!
