Diablo 4 player discovers item rarer than an Uber Unique

A player in Diablo 4 discovered a Rare item that possessed a Legendary affix, increasing its value above that of Uber Uniques.

The loot in the game is categorized according to its rarity, which is indicated by different colors. Typically, Yellow (Rare) items have two random perks and no affixes, while Orange (Legendary) items have three random perks and one affix. However, a player recently found a Yellow chest piece with a Legendary affix.

FR0ZENBURG posted their discovery on Reddit, curious if anyone else had encountered something similar.

One player, taken aback, remarked, “With three affixes and an aspect, this is practically a Legendary item.”Another chimed in, “It’s hard to believe this is even possible.”

As mentioned in the post, in addition to the Legendary affix, the chest piece that the OP obtained was named the “Paragon’s Ire” and had the subsequent statistics:

  • 26.0% Shadow Resistance
  • 4.2% Damage Reduction
  • 3.5% Impairment Reduction

Players noted that the item drop includes a damage reduction perk, which is currently not obtainable on gear due to the itemization changes in Season 4. Currently, the only way to obtain damage reduction is by allocating points on the Paragon Boards.

The OP had previously mentioned that the current affix was working properly. However, attempting to imbue this item with a different Legendary affix through the Occultist would instead transform it into a single Legendary item, rather than adding a second affix. This serves as further evidence that the item is bugged.

One of the players suggested, “Let’s hold onto those. They could potentially become valuable in a few seasons.”Although the rare item would probably be sold for a good amount, it was regrettably linked to their account.

While not a major issue, it is likely that this bug will be resolved with the release of the Season 5 update on August 6, which will also introduce a new game mode called Infernal Hordes.
