Diablo 4 Players Call for Buffs to the Game’s Most Useless Affix

“Players of Diablo 4 are calling for developers to improve the game’s underpowered affixes in order to make them more viable choices.”

Diablo 4 features items with a diverse array of affixes that enhance a character’s defensive, offensive, and mobility attributes.

Although these stat boosts can enhance build weaknesses and offer important advantages, some affixes have been shown to be less helpful than others.

According to certain players, the Life per Second affix is often considered to be a negligible stat. Redditor bean_barrage humorously questioned the usefulness of the stat in a meme post that pokes fun at Diablo 4’s Life per Second affix.

Despite appearing to be a reliable stat at first glance, Life per Second’s flaw is that it does not increase in effectiveness as the player progresses.

A member of the thread clarified that having 200 Life per Second can replenish a player’s health bar in five seconds when their maximum health is 1,000. However, once a player’s maximum health reaches 100,000, it will take eight minutes for the same affix to fill their health bar.

Many individuals in the thread believe that developers should increase the effectiveness of Life per Second, as it is consistently overshadowed by superior stats.

Another individual suggested that a “percent-based”buff may be effective in improving survivability, making it a potentially useful affix.

Some argue that these “useless stats”serve a purpose by ensuring a larger pool of statistics in the game, resulting in a longer process to obtain better items and ultimately encouraging players to spend more time playing.

The community of Diablo 4 has repeatedly questioned the worth of the Life per Second affixes in the past.

During the public testing phase for the revamp of Season 4’s itemization, a member on the Blizzard Forums addressed the need for improved balancing of the life-per-second stat.

The user expressed their desire for the affix to remain, but noted that it currently lacks balance. They requested for it to be strengthened and made equivalent to other stats, as it would otherwise serve as a nuisance for gear enchantments.

It is yet to be determined how Blizzard will further improve itemization, affixes, and similar elements through iteration.
