Players of Diablo 4 are requesting the ability to turn off the visual effects of skills used by other players, as they believe it is hindering their ability to enjoy the game.
For example, choosing the Sorcerer’s Fireball skill grants vast AoE potential and is effective in clearing ads, although it bears a striking resemblance to Hellfire.
It can be an issue when playing with others in game modes such as Infernal Hordes or in activities like Helltides. The skill effects from allies can make it extremely difficult to anticipate where Hellfire will strike, as the red circles on the ground are also obscured.
One Reddit user pointed out that minions and traps are visible to everyone, and this should also be the case for all skills within the game.
It’s season 5, let us toggle off other player effects already. This is unplayable. byu/fullmetalretard666 indiablo4
Many people shared the same opinion as the OP. One player commented, “Out of all the skills I’ve seen in the game, Fireball is definitely the most visually distracting,”while another player shared, “My wife had to stop playing twice because a sorcerer using this skill joined in on our maiden kill, it made her physically sick and nauseated.”
Some also pointed out that the game’s colorblind filters are not effective as a workaround. When attempting to adjust the color of items, there were no options available in the “accessibility”settings.
Although the OP focused on the Fireball Sorcerer in their post, both the Dust Devil Barbarians and the Blight Necromancers possess abilities that are capable of covering the entire screen.
Some players believe that having the ability to turn off these effects is crucial in order to avoid the screen becoming chaotic. They also drew parallels to the early days of World of Warcraft, when a similar issue was present.
As there are additional patches planned for this season, players remain optimistic that the developers will also fix the poison damage and Uber Lilith bugs in addition to addressing this issue.
