Diablo 4 players want Blizzard to give them a good reason to replay the campaign, like new rewards or a higher difficulty in Season 3.
Diablo 4 differs from previous Diablo games in that, once the campaign is completed, on Normal or Veteran difficulty, there is little incentive to replay it during seasonal content. Of course, players must complete the campaign at least once before they can tackle the Seasonal Journey. However, for new characters in later seasons, they have little reason to bother replaying the campaign.
Players will have the option to skip the campaign and dive straight into seasonal content when a new season begins. This content is also blocked until the campaign has passed or ended. This can unfortunately take upwards of 20 hours, so most players choose to skip it because there are more efficient ways to reach level 50 and access the new content.
However, as Diablo 4’s campaign is some of the best content available, especially compared to the often disappointing Seasonal content, some players are asking Blizzard to give them more motivation to replay the campaign when a new season arrives.
Some players are asking to be able to play the campaign on higher difficulties like Nightmare and Torment, while others would like to see seasonal quests available as part of the story.
Diablo 4’s campaign becomes redundant
On Reddit, user u/Geebs91 questioned the need to redo the campaign. In the comments, the subject deviated and focused on the possible return of a Campaign + mode. Some simply wanted better rewards to feel motivated to replay the story quests each season: “They should do some sort of campaign+ mode with additional challenges and better rewards if you’ve already completed it. I really enjoyed the story when it first came out. “.
One player shared the same sentiment: “That would be the best, so those who want the old style of Diablo 2 can play it again but at a faster pace.”
Others have argued that if players want to replay the campaign, they should just play it and that the point of the game is to have fun. “Do you have a group of friends to play with? Other than that, yes, you will level up faster if you go through the campaign, but who cares? If you want to play the campaign, do so. It’s not like 3 months wasn’t enough.”
It will be interesting to see if Blizzard finds new ways to use Diablo 4’s campaign in the coming months. Since the players seem to be getting tired, a solution could be considered.
Although seasonal quests do little to advance the plot, players will have to wait for the Vessel of Hatred DLC for the next expansion major story in Diablo 4.
