Diablo 4 Season 5: Burning Butchers are Double-Teaming Players

In Diablo 4 Season 5, the new Infernal Hordes activity introduced Burning Butchers, and some players have faced the challenge of encountering two at the same time.

The Butcher mini-boss, who previously appeared in Diablo 1 and 3, has made a comeback in D4 where he can be found randomly spawning in Dungeons, causing chaos for unsuspecting players.

Despite already being a formidable opponent, Blizzard developers raised the stakes in Season 5 with the introduction of a revamped version known as the Burning Butcher. This updated iteration of the character features an enhanced appearance and the ability to inflict fiery damage on players with devastating attacks.

Players fighting their way through the wave-based mode don’t just have to worry about encountering one Burning Butcher. There have been reports of some users having to face two of these special bosses at the same time.

Fearish, a Reddit user, came close to failing their Infernal Hordes run when attempting to capture a photo of the two Burning Butchers that emerged. The player can be seen struggling in the screenshot below as both fiery enemies cause chaos.

What’s better than one Butcher. I guess two Butchers? (Yes, I lived, almost died trying to screenshot it) byu/Fearish indiablo4

Despite appearing to have low health in the image, the Redditor claims to have survived the double-team attack.

It is intriguing to note that several other players of Diablo 4 have also reported encountering two Burning Butchers simultaneously, as stated in the comments.

A similar response states, “I have also experienced this before. Unfortunately, there were no rewards given as you only receive materials here.”

During a Tier 8 run, a different user encountered two of the new Butchers but managed to escape due to their Sorcerer utilizing the Ice Armor skill and having Tyrael’s Might equipped.

During the main game, encountering regular Butcher enemies is unlikely for players. Nevertheless, it is important to mention that Season 5’s Infernal Hordes event allows users to purposely summon the Burning Butcher for future waves.

It is likely that the original poster and others had summoned the character, resulting in a double dose due to chance.
